Amos Heller is a bass player that has performed and worked with Taylor Swift since 2007. That would be sometime after her ascension to stardom. I've never been formally acquainted with anyone that Taylor worked with and on top of going to the "rainiest rain show that ever rain showed" the May before, this session was a bit of dream come true.
Amos was a delightful musician to speak with. I booked the maximum time slot to ensure that I got the most out of this experience. I sang a cover of "Love Story" to him while showing off my signed copies of the original and Taylor's Version of Fearless, which he commended me for because I used to be self-conscious about my voice. I also asked Amos when how he ended up working with her and near the beginning of this session, I showed him my favorite photo of Taylor that I took from the nose-bleed section. It led to him explaining what she might have been doing at the time I took it. Someone on Instagram speculated that she would sometimes take out an ear piece to hear the crowd after playing an emotional song for comfort and Amos's sympathy as a performed that accompanies her onstage confirmed it.
