Sometimes it can feel impossible to meet God in our daily lives.
Fitting real prayer in between our daily duties is difficult, and most of us don’t even know what it means to meditate on God’s presence. Fortunately, Fr. Timothy Gallagher is back with more incredible advice for meeting God in our own lives!
He’ll tell you about the awesome program for spirituality given to us by St. Ignatius of Loyola, which has formed Catholic heroes like St. Isaac Jogues, Mother Teresa, and St. Francis de Sales. Better yet, he’ll give you an achievable plan for prayer so that you, too, can know what God is telling you.
A relationship with God is possible for all of us. Watch this episode to learn how!

My suggestion 📌During Lent let’s remember not to let your past failures and mistakes define you; and tomorrow is promised to nobody. It’s what you do and what you are today that counts. So do ✝️ Gods work daily, avoid sin and become a Saint 1-day at a time and you will sleep well every night as a bonus. 🙏Prayer, confession, and Holy Communion will help you on your daily journey to become the best version of yourself.

…but he doesn’t have kids. They can sure throw you into a tizzy. Ha! Seriously, I agree with you though. Each of person, no matter their calling in life, has challenges that can throw us off balance. He mentions technology and funding a balance. If we weren’t listening to this podcast, we couldn’t even enter into this discussion with one another. I agree, the gratitude list is soooo important. Remembering all the ways I have been loved can send me into the most loving frame of mind. What a great way to spend the day.

We put my son into Catholic school this year, 1st grade, and we've also made lifestyle changes that work in harmony with his education. I didn't know how to make faith/prayer habits into our family because i didn't have that as a child. My son has fears at night and we've worked praying for peace and protection into our nightly routine, and we have a small "A Saint a Day" book that leads us into a quiet time before sleep. When he has extra trouble getting to sleep, I read his new children's Bible. Sometimes I go for the long genealogies, sometimes Psalms, sometimes it's random, or something he learned in school. More times than not, there has been something special that stands out. Sometimes, it's the same or related passage that we would hear in a weekday mass the next time we go. Amazing how small things can build great things.

Teach your son about the the guardian angels and the job they have of protecting us. The first prayer I ever remember praying was the Hail Mary. I must’ve been only three or four, but I remember repeating each line after my mother. Her eyes were closed and I knew she was talking to someone I couldn’t see. I continued this practice with my own children and we always ended our nighttime prayers with,”keep our family in the circle of your love always and chase the devils away in the name of Jesus.”

I start my day everyday with my coffee and my Father’s 1954 Missal❤️ it’s so peaceful. I also say all my prayers and say the Rosary before I go to work. It’s changed me and my life and I can see the graces flowing to my husband and our 5 children. I started this 3 years ago. Nothing else can bring me peace like this no matter what struggles I am going through! God is amazing! As I say to our kids, ask God what to do when you have a problem. The one who made you definitely has the answer!! 😊❤️🙏🏻

I love Ignatius spirituality. I found myself doing an examine prayer during mass this evening g. And God showed me how I fell 4 times . This has been happening and I found it has made every word of the mass more important than ever before. The examine was short quick reflection with four venial sins. I had ample time to ask God's forgiveness before receiving communion but it was awesome to feel to loved after such a long hard day. Thank you Fr Tim Gallagher and Chris Stephanic for bringing to light the gift of God's hand in the real presence of the eucharistic in this series.

Be still. Meditation is more of a Being than a doing. You don't have to know anything or do anything in order to Be. Beingess is silently welcoming, peaceful and Joyful. Beingness is one with God. It is the ego-mind that causes all the trouble. It has no power of it's own. It is I who gives it power when I unwittingly buy into it.

One thing: "The Holy Spirit (better than saying, :the Spirit") will lead us..." The Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost) needs to be understood as a, He - the 3rd Divine Person of the Holy Trinity. Spirit can be applied to so many things, but the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person and should be remembered as such.

For someone who is bipolar and those with mental illness in general, this is far too much to do and causes a lot of stress which only makes matters worse. I can do some of this but many could not do it at all. The Rosary and the St Michael prayer and chaplet are good for those whom this way would be stressful. It would be nice if we were not left out!

What happens if you feel that God isn't responding, and that He doesn't love you, or you don't see anything He's done for you, that day, but make things impossibly frustrating? Or if something horrible happens, and He allows it? I am normally a devout person, but I've gone thru these rough patches, and it's something to consider. I wish I had better ways to work thru these times. Im in such a place, lately. My communication with God has been horrible. Thanks for reading.

Chris Stefanick, thank you for the work that you are doing. I have a request. When an Interviewee is speaking please don't interrupt with you comments. E.g. let Fr. Timothy Gallagher complete what he is explaining. You carry away his matter which sometimes remain incomplete or we get distracted with your trend of thought and miss out. Please interrupt less is my request to you.

Many view priests as kind of soft or even effeminate It just hit me that true priests are probably the most masculine guys out there Why? They deny themselves and renounce the world in a way that is NOT EASY and most men could never do it That "softness" is really humility that shines through. It gets people so confused because pride is mainstream How deceiving appearances can be The world is indeed upside down

This guy’s agitated disturbances and interruptions just show loud and clear the gigantic lack of spiritual recollection necessary to host a guest like fr Galagher, he treated this as if he is talking to his backyard neighbor and made no valuable spiritual points anytime he made an interjection. Augustine Institute is solid, this host is somewhat immature in many ways. Please take it as constructive criticism.

The Gospel of Mark, that was written CE 66-74 bookends Jesus’ baptism and death with reflective declarations. At the baptism there is a voice from heaven: “You are my Son” and at the crucifixion a gentile centurion, says, “Truly this man was the Son of God”; the Spirit descends like a dove at baptism, and gives up the ghost at death, both have references to Elijah, and the heaven being torn asunder, and the Temple curtain is torn. Mark is written is three parts, with layered themes in each part to reinforce teaching. Mark seems to be a retelling of stories about Elisha, Moses, eg, Moses parts the sea and crosses; Jesus calms the sea and crosses. Mark also redacts Psalms, eg, Mark 15 34 “my god, why have you forsaken me” from Psalm 22 1 “my god, why have you forsaken me.” This is written as a foundation story or Myth and not history.
@gdiaz9927
@gdiaz9927 Год назад
That’s foreshadowing it happens a lot in the Bible.
@russellmiles2861
@russellmiles2861 Год назад
@@gdiaz9927 foreshadowing? Why not writing drawing on previous texts to asset authenticity But if you are correct: that is an awful lot of foreshadowing. About every word uttered by Jesus is taken from Hebrew text. The story is essentially a retelling of Moses and Joshua story, with quite a bit reminisces of the Ilid. What are the odds this is history as oppose the fiction based on myths. You would at least need some irresistible evidence of the historical events. Yet not a solitary Chronicle from the classic era describes Jesus, mission or miracles. This would be like believing Adam and Eve, Noah and Abraham were real people. I assume you except they were mythical which accords with Roman Catholic teaching.
@jusme2888
@jusme2888 Год назад
@Russell Miles what roman catholic are you affiliated with because that information you wrote is definitely not Traditional Catholic teaching. And there is definitely proof of Jesus, and especially His Crucifixion. And lastly, there were hundreds of witnesses to ALL OF IT. Same as there being witnesses to any other events in past years. They didn't have cameras & videos obviously. Not sure of what type of proof you may be looking for but there's information out there on biblical times etc..
@russellmiles2861
@russellmiles2861 Год назад
@@jusme2888 I married a pretty Irish lass. I learnt this stuff as an adult. I buried my wife and middle son according to Roman Catholic rites. The Church instructs that the Bible contains myths, legends and truth, which we much look to the Church leadership to understand. Adam and Even, Noah's Ark, Abraham, Joshua, the Tribes of Israel (of which there are 14 listed) are considered mythical stories with meaning. As for Jesus; the Sermon on the Mont is set early in Jesus’ mission in Galilee. However, this text relies on the Septuagint text showing it originated in Greek, not Hebrew or Aramaic. It draws on the Greek text of Deuteronomy and Leviticus. For example, the section on turning the other cheek and other aspects of legal pacifism “Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth” (Matthew 5.38-42) has been redacted from the Greek text of Isaiah. 50.6-9. “I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard. I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting”. The literary structure of the Sermon can only have arisen from written text, not from spoken word. The Sermon on the mount is unlikely to come from a historical Jesus, but more likely text reflecting revelation and considered thought of early Christian scholars and leaders. As for eyewitness: neither Paul or Clement describe anything about Jesus's mission, family, preaching: only Revalation drawing on Hebrew texts. The Gospels are written anonymously and Mark the earliest is dated a generation after the story is set. It is also a retelling of Moses, Jacob and other classic stories. There word attributed to Jesus come from early texts.
