I know it was just a joke, but I thought it was mean that she made Sam hold up the sign that represented being rejected for Colby. Just because it was true. Colby is more charismatic, sensual, and expressive and all the girls were running up to him and ignoring Sam, they're a team yet the girls made it seem like Sam was inferior, and he already has struggled with insecurities. His sad face while holding the sign seemed so genuine, like he was finally allowed to show how he felt inside.
