lately I feel like it's more common for people to,, not necessarily trust strangers first thing but to get talking to them and sharing stories and facts about yourself; building a friendship basically but without the worry of it being some creep

Never catfished, per se, but I did discover in the early days of social media that if a girl only has face shots, often at extreme angles, there's a reason.

I've been catfished before back when I was in highschool. I really was just a dumb kid that blindly ignored all the signs. Long story-short, after talking to this guy for all of my sophomore year, he finally sent me a real picture of him and his mom, because he said he "loved me" and "wanted to make it right." It was pretty devastating at the time, but I just felt sorry for the guy in the end. He definitely had a sickness inside that he needed to deal with, and luckily nothing ever happened to me outside of the embarrassment and hurt. It was pretty intense to deal with.

I remember playing gta 4 online when it first came out on xbox 360 and my dad was soooooo fascinated at the fact that i just killed someone else playing the same game from their house in another country.

That catfishing story of the woman that catfished you, that unfulfilling life she mustve had or still has, from a young age i had that too and started to be a different person online than i was in real life. But someone actualy helped me and gave me that little push that i needed to become that person that i really desired to be that day. I apologised to all my friends for lieing to them like that when i actualy took that first step into my new self. Now im happily engaged with my soon to be wife, were going to marry next year and things really have changed, by A LOT. And i couldnt be happier about that, telling people about that persona i faked to be being the truth now and knowing that, it just feels right. Its giving me such great satisfaction in life despite all the challenges and the depression i have to face every single day at my young age of only 20 years old. Life is never easy but keep going. Eventually you'll find the place where you belong, and hey, if that happens to you, you should be open minded and if possible support that person. It is how i ended up finding myself, catfishing the person who now is my very best friend, the one who helped me out of all the misery and showed me the way to who i am now. AlbaneEdge, if you're reading this by any chance i just want to say thank you so much for what you've done, i dont know where i would be now without you.
