there are 30 Negrito tribes throughout the Philippines. Aeta is just the name on the west side of Luzon. In Visayas, they're Ati. Boracay, where you were, has an Ati tribe in the interior of the island.
@@alexw853 MATHEW 25:40 The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.
They are not African migrants btw. These are the original, indigenous inhabitants of the Philippines. Thailand also have the "Mani people" who are also forgotten.
unfortunately the Mani are only 1 tribe of a few hundred people remaining. Philippines is fortunate to still have 30 Negrito tribes throughout the country and they number close to 400,000. So you can still find them relatively easily if you know where to look.
@@apinezstats2237 right. All Filipinos will tell you that Negritos are the first Filipinos. And there are huge festivals in the Philippines celebrating the Negritos (or what is perceived to be Negrito culture), like the Ati-Atihan festival and Dinagyang. While I dont think most Thais even know Negritos exist.
Always amazes me that people who live like this always seem to be way happier than us in the west who work all day and have everything we could ever want compared to these folks. And we are typically as miserable as hell !!
It’s the sun. Or it’s just their nature to be friendly and welcoming even if they’re struggling. At the end of the day maybe they’re crying and ruminating about their struggles but every morning is another day to work to survive
Sly, you're the man! I've seen quite a bit of PI vlogs and I'm pretty sure you're the first that's ever visited and done a vlog on this community. Very kind of you for taking the time unlike many of the other PI vloggers just doing vids on walking street, girls, girls, and girls. You are too kind sir, keep up the amazing work. stay safe and travel safe always. peace!
There is, some African vloggers like DE mwango, african tigress and some others, and lately the famous Syrian vlogger here named Basel now given by our government a Filipino citizenship.
Thank you for delving and portraying a slice of rural life for this Filipino community. And for your participation in experiencing a bit of their culture.
Thank you so much. I have traveled to 18 countries and lived in 4. I promise that I have NEVER heard of this place. Now, it is definitely on my list of a place to visit. Thank you so much.
I lived like this as a kid in the Philippines, and now I’m a lot miserable here in Canada. I’m too spoiled to live like this anymore, but I do miss the simplicity and happiness
Aetas are known to be nomads and are very good hunters but much of the jungle and lush vegetation just seems hard up and is very slow to come back ever since the 2nd most powerful volcanic eruption ever recorded (the first one happened underwater). All of that area used to be very jungly and very green, unlike now which is mostly gray. A really drastic change to their nomadic way-of-life. Btw, did you know that the Aetas were the ones who taught the American soldiers jungle survival skills, which they passed down or also trained others soldiers with until today.
Sly has done It again, another great video. And these people are such beautiful people and the original people who are full of sincerity, no guile. This Is wonderful
Another awesome video family. What a heartwarming and humbling experience. Bless up.🙏🏾 Brotha keep living your best life.✌🏾 I will be making a donation and I hope to make it to the Philippines in 2024.
This people are part of the Southeast Asian ethnic groups that Spanish called "Negritos" (it means "little blacks"). Originally they were majority in that region (thousands of years ago), and probably they are descendants of some of the first humans that migrated from Africa to the east through Asia. Over time, they were mostly absorbed and replaced by mongoloids that arrived from the north (from Central Asia and Northeast Asia) in bigger numbers and today are majority. Also, that's why today, people of this ethnic groups are pretty much admixtured, and in fact many are predominantly mongoloid.
Mongolioid is an obsolete term and Filipinos aren’t mongoloid (northeast/central Asian). Filipinos are Austronesians (south East Asian tribes, Polynesian/hawaiian etc tribes)
I am Sundanese, from Java island . some of my family have dark skin and curly hair. In my opinion, the Negrito tribe is a native of Southeast Asia who then experienced genetic assimilation with immigrants from the north who had light skin and straight hair.
These may be forgotten people but you brought them back to life. Literally, great video. Amazing tour of these people. Crazy to think that they are the originals of the Philippines.
It's crazy If you believe 99.9% of what the European world has taught, especially their teachings concerning so-called blk people and their origins and culture and language. We as so-called blk people are the original people of the world, point-blank. And any land mass you can ever think of so-called blk people are the originals of those lands, even EUROPE, oh yes. And there are countless historical books, museums, etc that can back up everything I'm saying, and the information that Is out there comes from the EUROPEANS themselves. The original man Is the BLK MAN AND WOMAN
@@zephdo2971 Honestly, In my 29 years on this earth, I have done enough studying to know what I'm talking about. Many lies and misconception have been taught for CENTURIES by the EUROPEAN MAN and no one ever questioned his theories, but they were all LIES, and you're doing the same thing, continue on the lies that were taught to make yourself superior when you're NOT. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know who is the most dominate on this EARTH, who is the most INFLUENTIAL and special, it's so-called blk people, u know that. If you don't know you come from blk people, we don't know come out of no other race as we are the original people of the earth. But I know the real truths, so I don't need you to add on with your limited history and understanding, the cat is now out of the bag and the real history has now been revealed, and I have GOT THE REAL HISTORY.
@@zephdo2971 That is completely ridiculous. The first and original inhabitants are Black Africans who migrated from Africa. This is the reason why the indigenous population of every single continent, are Black Africans. The caucasian is a result of a de-evolution of the African man and women when they encountered an ice age which caused them to lose their melanin, for the sebum which protects the scalp, to move into the hair, and for their pineal glands to shrink and calcify.
The original people of the Philippines. See the Spanish American war and see how and what the US white soldiers said about the Filipino people. Great content.
@@columbushill4974 did you know a black buffalo soldier David Fagen helped the Philippines against America. The Philippines and America where allies during the war, then America traded with Spain for the Philippines. That's when america and the Philippines went to war against each other. Fagen saw how they where treated, just like the blacks back in America, so left to help the Philippines fight for their freedom. He was never captured.
I have so much respect for the Aetas/Atis because they were the first inhabitants here in the Philippines. Thank you so much for sharing this video. I hope I can visit them someday.
They are the real natives the dominant race in phillipines don’t except. That they think they are the. Real Filipinos that is a lie the Aeta are and they. Deserve compensation from the phillpines government
The Aeta people are no other than one of the 12 Lost Tribes of Israel, originally known as the Tribe of Naphtali, in the Bible, they are also live in the Hawaiians Islands and are known as Tongans, Samoans, and Hawaiians. Facts!
There's a lot of African rooted tribes in the Phillipines, and it's a shame they're slowly dying out and forgotten. So this is nice to see. People need to know about our blasian brothers and sisters.
Theres about 30 tribes in the philippines and I can say that they are pretty numerous here, theres the mangyan in mindoro, Ati in kalibo and boracay and they are really numerous and are integrating to modern societies. Alot of educated individuals there as well
@@zephdo2971 I sure they're mostly referring to the tribes Migration patterns, rather than current modern ethnic labels. Some even differentiate between racial genetic migration history and Culture heritage. I think that's the main difference between the original post and your comment, with both having merit.
I see what you’re getting at Zephdo. The racial concepts and designations that exist in the US cannot be applied to the Philippines. It’s like oil and water and sadly, some westerners make the mistake of imposing western racialization concepts on other places that don’t have that set up.
I’m really like that showed this, visited prior to Pinatubo eruption. The infrastructure still ongoing - Aeta-tribe communities seemed displaced/dispersed .. grreat content ..
My good friend in college was half Aeta. Her dad was Aeta. They lived in Hawaii. That was the first time I ever heard of those group of people. I went to college before the internet was around.
Good ancient Africans in Asia. Black s lived on Every continent before 1492.... That is why all indigenous people are either brown or black or mixed race peoples.
So happy for you that you get to travel to different parts of the world making memories on your own and sharing your experiences. I hope you get to do everything twice in your life so you can come back to all the countries that you visited and connect with certain individuals that you have befriended throughout your adventures. 💪🏽🤞🏽💯🙏🏽
Please let's support these people... I nearly shed tears when I was watching the life these people are experiencing... And I feel they deserve better with much care and love....🇿🇲🇿🇲 these people are lovely, innocent and very warm.. despite what they're going through, that doesn't permit them to acting out of the way and being welcome to everyone... And personally I love them. Please let's us show love towards these people 😭😭😭😭😢❤️.... Especially international organizations please please 🙏🙏🙏😢
You remind me of my uncle who retired from the navy and always wore jeans and flipflops when in the Philippines through photos he sent us in the 70s-90s. Auntie is from Leyte. Those black chickens are expensive but used for health or medicinal purposes.
If I ever live there I places like that would be cool to explore the volcano and the local culture and history. I've been to Isabela province and Cavite, Batangas and Manila (least favorite) thus far. I hope to make it down southwards of the country some day as it seems less traveled much like the northern part of Luzon.
Aeta are not forgotten people. Most Filipino's have Aeta blood in them..Filipinos are mixture of different asian, pacific island, Spanish , American blood..
Where is the exact place address Sir? don't mind asking im also aeta from the mountain relate this people who lives hard life, God bless and be safe always Sir
I see people saying they walked there but no one can explain the similar looking groups found in Paupa New Guinea, Andaman Islands, Madagascar etc as if ancient people couldnt traverse the sea.
The good thing about the education is pubic colleges/universities are free, but they have to pay for books and travel and housing allowances. Private universities are not free, same like in states. But still super cheap by western standards. I don't donate to many causes because many NGO's monetary donations seem to go to the top but locals receive minimal resources. Therefore, I do my little part by helping a few students with their monthly allowances for personal effects and travel/lodging fees. I feel better knowing they receive all the funds and benefit directly.
They are the descendant of the original inhabitants of aeta land so called today Philippines, and Philippines meaning the small children of the tyrant Spanish King philip 2
These negros are Hebrews which means they are specifically related to the Socalled African American & some of the W. Africans. These are Ebers grandchildren from Joktan.
FOH with your bullsh*t. Learn some anthropology and genetics so you don’t sound so ignorant. Don’t be so scared of logic. These people’s ancestors are some of the earliest to leave Africa meaning they are the least related to modern Africans. Modern Asians branched out from the same ancestral group of the Aetas. They’re closely related to South East Asians. If you’re not so caught up with Race you would t be so blind. Do you know how stupid you’ll look if they ran your claims against actual data?
these people are some of the most marginalized in the philippines. there's often a huge regional discrimination going on there. for instance, if you're from the visayas or mindanao and you go to luzon particularly manila, you often get ridiculed most of the time because of your accent. you are also seen as a lesser class. the term "bisaya" can sometimes be used in such a negative connotation. i'm not even referring to the negritos with that. these are your typical malay looking filipinos. then you have the indigenous negritos, that includes aetas, ati, etc have it worse than any ethnic groups in the country. it's mostly because of their darker skin tone and curly hair which are both seen in the philippines as unattractive features. the beauty standard there is having light skin tone also with straight hair. you can mostly blame the media into conditioning locals to have that beauty standards. some people blame it on colonial inherited mindset.
I think you have a responsibility to educate modern Africans/Diaspora descends(Black folks) that these are not ‘Black people’…In short, they descend from the earliest groups to leave Africa and migrate eastward. They are the furthest related to modern Africans. Everyone else non-Black looking are closer related to modern Africans…One explanation is that the Aetas and similar people retained much of the original phenotype because they remained near the equator…These are all basic anthropology. Idk what’s so hard to understand…So many Black people are obsessed with race and are conditioned to faithfully believe old European concepts of race which are now obsolete. Nowadays they believe crap from cultish Black supremacist groups like Black Hebrew, Hotep etc (which ironically just remixes white supremacist race concepts). This ignorance is spreading like wild fire. Seems like many Black folks are doing a fine job disinforming each other. It’s incredibly sad…That said, we don’t need them to meddle with Filipino history. We are also conquered people. Much of our identities/traditions/spirituality have been lost as well…Stop columbusing what’s ours!
they're black, hence why the they are called "negritos" (small black people). It's quite interesting how modern people play semantics with things like this like these arbitrary concepts haven't already been placed centuries ago. Saying they're not black is as valid and saying African are not black too. Per the racial eugenics many people (ironically) follow and perpetuate, they are black, just not Africans. No more African than anyone else outside of Africa -aside from the recent diaspora.
Hi, can you send me the link where I can donate money, clothing, toiletries and supplies to the Aeta people?? How can I start new housing and retail development in their city and start pushing for slum clearance? I'm U.S. freed slaves ancestry (Freedmen) by the way. Let me know because I am into skilled trades. And also let me know how I can work on designs for a new Aboriginal township for them with blocks of businesses, health clinics, a bank, hotels and paved roads. How can I bring them new cars?? I have so many questions!!
