The character sprites are pretty good and don't look as overmuscled as the SNES versions. The girls actually look like girls and not just palette swaps of the male characters. It's a great job here.
This game is still friggin awesome. Busted it out the other day fully expecting the nostalgia to wear thin after a few minutes, but I ended up playing it all the way to the end. Still remembered all the little tricks and hidden paths. And the music, my days the music. Every main theme from the show was lovingly recreated. Fight, We Need a Hero, White Tiger Power etc
One of the great games for the Mega Drive just awesome love everything as a kid and the music just gets u all worked up takes u back to full Nostalgia blast processing power
You didn't often see the Power Rangers use their weapons in the show. They were usually punching and kicking. And now, we see Zac/the Black Ranger busting out the heavy artillery here!
I finally dug this game out of the basement...it's really dusty, and hey? I'm going to pop it in and play it...sadly the rest of my "Adult" friends think I'm a kid trapped in an Adult body, but what's wrong with being a kid again playing Mighty Morphin Power Rangers? :)
I grew up on the genesis version. I've always loved how it follows the 1995 movie while taking you through some of the episodes from season 2. Specifically the "The Power Transfer" miniseries being my favorite level. I also love how it includes Ron Wasserman's musical scores from the show.
I really liked the detail in the end of the Forbidden Planet stage, of having Serpentera in the background...really added depth to the entire thing, as simple as it was. Also final game boss Ivan is what we should have gotten in the movie.
Lo que mas me gusta de este juego es la música, están muchas canciones del show y muy bien hechas el gameplay esta muy bien y la verdad y sobre todo las cinemáticas le dan un punto extra, muy buen juego en general, le dedique muchas horas en mi vieja sega
26:47 knowing exactly where lord zed (or whatever his name was,) was hiding. And the first time I saw him I shat brix. I thought the game broke or something. I had thought this game was a dream until I found out it was just really really underrated.
Torey White in the tv show I love and i got goosebumps when Lord Zedd gave Goldar his wings back and i was like "Oh shit, power rangers in serious trouble now" Lol
lmao, funny thing, it was better on the snes Also the sound quality... omg... so rubbish the SNES OST had better quality and better compositions The only good point on the genesis was the fighting mechanics and the fact that u could run
I love that it’s the real helmets of each and every one of them unlike the snes version. The five of them are all red rangers but just changed their colors
All the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers games for the Mega Drive and the Game Gear were Japanese developments, mostly by SIMS (although the first MMPR game for the Mega Drive was developed by a company called Nova and it evidences the difference). I believe it's also the situation with the SNES and Game Boy games, at all the SNES games seem to have been developed by Natsume (including the Power Rangers Zeo racing game). Regarding the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series at least, I think only the Mega CD version is a western development. Later incarnations of the Power Rangers for subsequent platforms tended to be tasked to western developers instead and so the gap of quality fell down because of that.
Aí, a versão do Super ficou aquela coisa totalmente diferente. E outra, trocaram o combo dos personagens e tudo mais por aquela mudança de plano estilo shinobi. O jooj de super ficou feito nas coxas, mas ainda é bom pra caralho. O Mega então nem se fala.
My favourite part of this game is how it skips 95% of the plot of the movie in order to take us on a Season 2 flashback trip, and give us all 9 original cast members in one game.
12:58 I think putting the game level at "Hard" is a bead idea. Not only it gives you less time, it can also deplete your life energy when you're running out of time!
It's way better than the SNES version is because it completely follows the movie itself perfectly and it mixes both mighty morphin power rangers seasons 2 and 3 + with the movie and it turns it into a great game based on a great 1995 movie😀👍🏼🎮
Would've been great if the final battle on the comet was done with the full Ninja Falcon Megazord. Also I still want the Lord Zedd theme as a ringtone.
I'd say that was for the better. The "We don't have powers" segment just sucked. Making a game adaptation out of this would probably have resulted in a lot of game recalls.
AlphaBlast The SNES VERSION was wack as HELL. Collecting lightning bolts to morph was retarded and tedious, the putties were weak and frail and you couldn't pilot any of the Zords. What's a POWER RANGERS game without piloting ZORDS?? That's just WACK!!
Let's not forget the SNES game as a whole didn't feel like a Power Rangers game at all. MMPR The Movie for Genesis was the most faithful for the franchise back in the 1990s. Gotta give the Genesis devs props for making the game actually fucking fun.
Adam Lennard Yup, he's just sitting there as a hidden boss. It's creepy as hell and you don't get anything but points but I never beat this game without it.
This beat'em up is not bad, but it does have two very, very major flaws: 1) Characters fighting style is way too similar between each ranger 2) There is simply not enough enemy variety. Budget issues at their best...
+John Lomuscio (Jowill) True--this one also had music from the tv show!!! But I REALLY liked the music in the SNES version. Especially the Hangar one and the Energy Lab one!!
Wow, I wasn't aware until now that this game existed, it's pretty cool (although incredibly repetitive). The first SNES game and this one actually make the Power Rangers seem like the best concept ever made. :) I don't think the show was that awful (it was a kids show afterall) but it was just so cheesy and corny that I couldn't help but feel embarrased if someone walked on by while I was watching it, so I had to quickly change the channel and act like if I was searching for another program. :D
I played it today. Its challenging but a satisfying well made beat em up.I LIKE IT even though Goldar get the best of me in the falling fire debris level 5 , which was hard. I enjoyed it still.
They probably had to save on assets as much as possible. This short game is packed with detail for the time. It probably saved them alot of money and time to not have the sequence and it makes sense from a gameplay perspective aswell.
@@CageVsCage trust me... SNES version is crap with all the rangers being a uniform design... Then there's the fact the SNES version never has anything related to the movie happen
@@Omnishredder lmao 😂😂 i never really seen the snes version much either (other then the gameplay here) but i can see what u mean lol ... i have the sega version which doesnt have much of a story and is mainly just a versus game ... we played it for an episode on our channel .. check it out when you can 😃
