it's Outrun's scenery that really steals the show. From the desert sands to forests to ancient ruins, each stage features rich color schemes and unique landmarks like trees, signs, stores, and windmills.
As a youngin', I always (and still do) thought it was hilarious that it takes 20 seconds to go from New York to DC in this game. Everyone up the east coast knows how notorious both cities are for their traffic. Heh heh.
I wished AM2 ported this themselves... it'd be much better, and it could have awesome Vermillion/Rent a Hero style versions of the tunes, rather than shitty versions that use the terrible Tiertex sound driver.
He is shocked and sad that the player got to the finish line. Weird that here he looks like he is bleeding but he really is sweating and crying. ¿Maybe a Glitch affected the color of the car where he is?
He pulled out his hairs to bleeding... Would you ask WHY? The guy is the character from the first outrun, he can't stand that the girl went out with the rich dude who has the turbo car.
I remember playing this game I choose the manual transmission because of the turns as for the final stage from Oklahoma to LA I choose the Hi-Power Engine and if police car even thinking of getting in my way I'll give a turbo boost
Oh i remember this game. I dont owned it myself, but it was in the office of my child-doctor when i was young. And everytime i get there it was occupied by other kids. oh i was so sad. :D
Stage 1: NYC, New York, Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Indianapolis, Indiana Stage 2: Chicago, Illinois, St. Louis, Missouri, Memphis, Tennessee and Atlanta, Georgia ((imagine that, the hometowns of the greatest wrestling legends, CM Punk, Randy Orton, Jerry "The King" Lawler and Goldberg)) Stage 3: Miami, Florida, New Orleans, Louisiana, San Antonio, Texas and Dallas, Texas Stage 4: Oklahoma city, Oklahoma, Denver, Colorado, Grand Canyon and Los Angeles, California
it seems you got confused with Out Run and OutRunners on the Genesis/Mega Drive OutRunners on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive console is (was) a 16 megabit cartridge if Data East had left out the split screen in OutRunners it would be a great conversion some MD games look like shit because developers used 50 on screen colours not 64 MD Turbo Out Run should've looked as good as Out Run on the Genesis/Mega Drive
Can't believe, how C64 version, is far better than MegaDrive version 😢... background is completely empty, you see only the street and some threes... C64 version, look more like the original coin op... i don't even think this is actually a conversion... there is nothing from the original atmosphere in this game.
***** the Genesis/Mega Drive Turbo Out Run game was developed by Tiertex they had a reputation for crap (shit) arcade conversions on the 16-bit Amiga and/or Atari ST computers Alien Storm, Dynasty Wars, Last Duel, Mercs, Rolling Thunder, Street Fighter, Strider, Thunder Blade, UN Squadron
In all fairness, this is an utter bullshit port. The Megadrive was capable of much more than this. Even the original Outrun port far exceeds this and even that was a pale imitation of the arcade version. Having said that, Outrun arcade is still one of the best racing games of all time. There are so many better racing games on the Megadrive to not bother with this load of old shit - Virtua Racing, F1 World Championship, Lotus Challenge, Road Rash I & 2, Test Drive 2: The Duel, Super Monaco I & II, Super Hang On, Outrun etc.
