I remember getting this game. My 486 was wayyyy too powerful for it, causing the game to run at unplayable warp speed. For those too young to know a lot of DOS games had no limit to how fast they would run.
Yup that's why some computers had a "Turbo" button. "Turbo" was always on by default, the button was just there so you could turn it off and run older DOS games at a slower framerate. I guess having a "Slow" button would've looked bad?
So as a kid I had only a Game Boy and a Tandy 3000. I had played MM somewhere, at a friend's or in a store, and wanted the game. So I got it for GB. Not a bad game really, but not the same. So my young mind thinks "hey I'll get it for the computer! It'll be so much better" It wasn't.
Yeah the GB versions are actually a completely separate series of MM games, which caps off with MMV, whose enemies have never been seen anywhere else outside of Ariga's manga.
Yes. This was a company that did DOS ports of other games, and they spent so long coding this Mega Man that they missed the release of 2, III was the newest game at the time so they went with that name. Seeing as DOS Mega Man has nothing to do with NES Mega Man, this just caused so many more headaches than necessary.
I can't imagine why they didn't just use yellow instead of magenta... Sure, it would still be real bright, but at least you could use it to make stuff look like... actual stuff!
Oh, I 'member this one. Did ye know ya could no-clip out of Dr Wily's castle by jumping near the Oilman exit gate. I mean, it also makes ta game unwinable, but it's there.
i used to play this annoying fvck of a game all the time. i dont dislike it as much as i used to though, once i recently learned the backstory of why it is the way it is..
