I don't know what happened here, but super arm is from megaman 1, and the video is from megaman 4, so technically megaman used the super arm but forgoted it, by game mechanics
@@diegopadilla6469 yeah dude that's the entire point, OP is stating that Megaman shouldn't have put away Super Arm as it might have been useful in situations like that. He doesn't really forget stuff like Pokemon who are forced to forget one of their four moves when trying to learn a 5th one. It's more like "hey, Wily is back to prison now and world is finally at peace again, I shouldn't really need these weapons of mass destruction anymore".

D.R.N is Light's japanese name, and D.C.N stands for Cossack... It seems DSN wasn't occupied "officially" though, lucky you.
This was my first Megaman in the NES, I played so much but I didn't remember I saw any bug like this, this happened because you're in a hurry, I always play leisurely 😂
Another very known soft lock is using Rain Flush on Wily Capsule! Didn't expect this game to have this many. People bash on MM3 all the time for having a rushed development cycle, but 4 definitely lacked a lot of polish and attention to detail. It always felt lackluster for me until RM4-∞ came out and made me appreciate it more ever since.
Mega Man cannot exit through 1-block gaps when sliding, so that's how this happened. I do not know how the ring did not destroy both dust blocks on the first column, or how Mega Man entered through a 1-block gap while sliding.
a projectile fast enough may jump a few tiles or gaps and end up ignoring them as opposed to the more slower ones that would move through each available pixel each frame. so it may or may not be like that in Megaman 4, but it also happens even in modern games.
plus the fact these bricks' are vertically moving so they're actually changing their Y position, until they reach a point where the game takes them out of memory (momentarily) to free space and keep the frame rate without resorting to flickering. I wish I had a more fundamental grasp of the 6502 processor to give more accurate information but I belivt most of this makes sense if based on the little knowledge I have about it, in case someone more experienced happens to come across what I just had said...
Sure if you have the Legacy Collection or a rewind-supported emulator, but if you were playing on a real NES you would have to press RESET and lose your progress.
@@soundspark I agree it's a problem I don't hear about much online, but we were in a tropical area without air conditioning, and as kids it was hard to beat NES games at all because playing them for too long would often lead to a crash. I remember persisting with MM2 and seeing it softlock a lot, usually it happens when loading a boss stage, as you step through the door where everything loads, it will load in some garbage where the boss platforms are supposed to be. Bubble man / water stage is one place it definitely happens. I think I've seen speed runners use hot plates to warm the NES to achieve weird behavior, maybe that was a different console.
I appreciate that I motivate you but I also do a lot of Mega Man speedrunning and such as well. I don't really post workout content very often, but it you want motivation I'd suggest checking out Brently G's videos. He's a heavily overweight man who's lost over 100 pounds and counting. Again, I really appreciate that I give you motivation, I just don't do workout posts too often
*What do you say? Mega Man 2 have bugs too. It's too unfair you say MM4 suck, this game is the most underrated Mega Man game. He's not recognized like MM2.*
