I think it gets overlooked because unfortunately as a whole, the mega man 5 soundtrack, atleast for me, is pretty underwhelming. This is the only true classic from it.
The person who we thought was on our side...had a fortress of his own. Dang, so not only did he betray us, he stole Wily's shtick! He invented the concept of a multi-layered castle at the end of the Mega Man games. I know Cossack did it back in the previous game, but Proto Man was unexpected. Why him? He's stoic and serious, but they really made HIM (or at least an imposter) to be the villain.
I've heard so many covers and most just turn it into overblown metal or add a stupid techno beat and both lose the original's harmonies and intracies as a result. Would love to hear a note-for-note recreation with less abrasive instruments. Frety's acoustic cover is pretty damn good though.
@@Jesse-lv2yoI agree, when I look for covers of Mega Man X songs, it's a super noisy rock with a lack of harmony, maybe I didn't think I'd find a good rock cover.
@@christopherballesteros-cy4tq Shovel Knight. One the many spirit succesors of Mega Man, alongside Gravity Circuit, Gunvolt and others. The music is top notch so the inspiration on other Mega Man tracks is obvious.
I kinda made my own lyrics at 0:36... More than likely what Megaman was feeling as he raids "Proto Man's" fortress... "Oh, how'd it come to this? Proto Man, you are my brother. Brothers should never have to fight..." (Repeat) I know it's stupid, don't judge me, I just love Megaman 5...
I think 5 is alright, definitely didn't innovate at all besides adding Beat, but I feel it had some really memorable levels, like Wave Man's with the boat section, or Gravity Man's with the neat Gravity change mechanics, but overall the weapons were really useless and the robot masters really easy. It's still great, but has its flaws
It’s better than 1-3 imo but I do like it less than 4 and 6. It has good level design and some of the best music tracks in the series, but its weapons aren’t super useful and the robot masters aren’t that memorable.
For some reason, I always found that the NES games got better over time (except 3, that was a little worse than 2) and that 5 was one of the best (before they started coming out with non-NES bangers like 7, 8, 10, 11, etc)
First time I played this game when see room about spikes at floor and must pass by memory about wall bricks which I remember it before step on it carefully that was my nightmare is back if play without usw power-up
