GeminiLaser: If I showed you everything you could do with all the weapons then it would take me 3 years to make a video. 6 years later: Where did Gemini Laser Go?
I didn't think that fresh was something that lasted this long. But you've been as charismatic as you were when you first started, always armed with a punchline and, well, armaments, as well as the skill to use them. You don't have as many fans as some channels on RU-vid do, but darn, do we wish that you did. ;D
Thank you! That's very kind of you to say. I don't release new videos often enough to attract subscribers the way other channels do, but the fans I have are dedicated and awesome, which in turn encourages me to maintain or improve on the quality standards I started with.
...That's exactly what I think about Gemini. Took the words right out of my mouth. Nothing to add here, just wanted to sing thy praises and thank you for these videos. Fun as always. Now, to guesstimate when you'll see this. I think I'll eat a hat if it takes longer than a month for this to get noticed.
Had to do a double take when I saw this video. A charm of these videos is the surprise of when it'll be uploaded. ...Kinda to the point where you forget they even exist.
I woke up this morning and saw your new video on my subscription list. My day became that much better =D Thanks for the new upload and all the hard work you do to make these videos. Keep up the great work!!
Oh, so close! So very close to the end!! It's the one thing I want to see your brand of showoffery up against, the final boss of this game. And we're almost there! ...but don't worry about "shoulda done it years ago", you take your time for a good reason. Mega Man will just have to wait! And so will we, I guess, though it's certainly with great anticipation and bated breath! I actually went back and re-watched the previous 7 parts before getting to this one, sort of a refresher on all that's happened up to now. Maybe that would a better idea before watching the final part, but I admit I'd forgotten some of what happened in previous videos, so I think it was still a good idea. More Gemini is better Gemini! Sorta like how the Gemini Laser gets better every time it bounces off a wall. ...Okay, it just changes its angle. ...Okay, it only does that once. ...But still!
Seriously, *years*. I am excited about the contents of the final video as well. And I found myself rewatching parts of the series just to remind myself of what's happened! My goal is to at least finish Part 9 before the New Year, and preferably the bonus video as well. Hopefully I'll bounce back again soon!
And you don't mean New Year as in 2016 or 2017, right? You mean *this* coming New Year? ...Sorry, I just had to tease a bit on that! I have faith you can and will pull it off, my good sir!
***** thank you so much for this! i have been waiting so long for this one. i've been re watching your old videos and i have to wonder, do you play these on game oldies? or somewhere else? because i prefer game oldies to play these, mainly because of convenience.
I am still impressed everytime allover again, that you barely get hit by anything. Its just magical. Great work as always, my friend. Hope you had a good Halloween! =)
Thank you! Halloween is about the only holiday I really don't care for, but I still had a fun time hanging out with friends. Hope yours was good as well!
We don't really have Halloween over here, but I am still somewhat celebrating. Mostly by watching movies on my own. Spooky enough, right? xD See you soon again. =)
Not this time! If I have anything to do with it, at least. I was really struggling to come up with things to say for the first half of this video, but I've got plenty I want to cover for the last part, so that hopefully will be a lot faster to record.
Thanks! And I need to look back at my unused footage, but I'm pretty sure I do have a perfect take in there somewhere, though that could be wishful thinking.
Un-dead? Isn't he already un-dead... and then you killed him... again... doesn't that make him extra dead? And if one can be killed again then what's even the point of being dead? And now that I think about it you've killed him twice through this play through, and he would have been un-dead the first time you killed him... so would killing him this second time make him extra extra dead... super dead? And if he is un-dead at the beginning of all this nonsense then what is he when you fight him the second time? re-un-dead? And how many times has he died before this? ... my head hurts...
daikaijumaster BloodySteel64 I definitely would've gone down that line of conversation if I'd had more time at the end of the video. It might be a decent opener for the next part, but we'll see.
Wily 3 has one of my favorite Wily themes in the game, along with Slash Man's Theme, Wily 1, and the Robot Museum. I know you said you didn't like the STAGE all that much, but what about the theme? Also, NIIIIICE fight with Slash Man!
Hey, Gemini, I figured out that you could hit Spring Man with the Slash Claw when he's jumping up to throw his arms at you, how about that for showoffery?
***** There is a brief part where you can hit him and he's not flashing, but its hard. Also you have to walk up to him as fast as you can at the start of the battle so he gets knocked to the back, and so his flashing ends when he's going up
***** Yes, you can! It requires pretty good timing- you have to jump up with him and hit him at the high point of your jump. If you play it right, you'll never even see his punches during the fight!
Two things: 1. There's one point in the Ruby Spears cartoon where Mega Man could clearly use Rush Marine, but instead Dr.Light gives him swimming gear. 2. What will you do when you finish the classic series? X? Or how about Mega Man Unlimited? I'd love either of those personally.
I think I remember that; it always bugs me when a TV or movie adaptation of something makes up random junk when there's something that already exists to fill a purpose. See my About page on this channel for details on what's up next!
i cant wait for the next part ... good luck tackling that wily capsule ... :0 it ll be the pinnacle of showoffery ... megaman 7 remains one of the most mysterios games from the classic series ... i still remember the rumors about being able to fight cutman and gain his weapon ..."hence the blank spot in the weapon screen" ...too bad it was only rumors :|
I completely agree about the bosses getting way too easy with their weaknesses in this game. I mean with their weakness only really Slash Man has a chance at even hitting you. Plus with 2 rounds of bosses, even a first time player probably has the weakness chain figured out already making this challenge not a real threat.
Good point. I think Burst Man, Freeze Man, and Turbo Man can still cause some trouble, but probably not enough to be a serious problem if you got this far at all. At least the final boss that follows more than makes up for it. :)
Whenever I play Megaman nowadays, it seems I try to mess around with the weapons a lot more than usual... Wonder where I got that from... Hmmmmmmmmmm? None the less, it is a lot of fun though :D
I'm not a fan of when weaknesses make a boss outright less fun to fight (on top of undermining other weapons). At least they're optional, and the better players like switching it up anyway. I think the Wily Capsule in MM9 does a good job in terms of every special weapon being useful on it. The one that's be hard to hit it with (Plug Ball) is the one he's weak to.
Agreed. And one of the reasons I like MM9 so much is because it does SUCH a good job of making the weapons so useful in so many places. It's extremely rare that I completely run out of weapon ammo and have to make do with something else, but it happens frequently in that final battle.
Actually, Freeze man is weak to junk shield because it's all metal and metal sticks to ice, so it gets stuck on him. You can see this when you hit him and the junk revolves around him.
Interesting thought! I always wondered about how you could have so many other musical references in the series and exclude Rush. I always thought of Rush being "singing/playing ahead of tempo", which probably isn't right.
10:28 "An RPG where your status ailment inflicting spells actually inflicted status ailments." You mean SMT3 Nocturne? Yeah, everyone who played that thinks everyone in the room should play that too
Seriously! What was up with that thumbnail!? It was supposed to be Mega Man blowing up Shade Man, but instead it looked completely blank, unless you saw something different.
"Rumba Blender" - Brilliant I want to make a Megaman game, I already finished a Castlevania, you can check Castlevania NKN - Trailer Let me know if you would be interested
FINALLY AFTER 3 MONTHS ITS FINALLY HERE!!. ugghhh gonna have to wait till january too see the next one ANYWAY Hard Knuckle Oh wait i mean search snake oh wait i mean spark shock oh wait i mean needle cannon oh wait i mean GEMINILASER YES I REMEMBERED HIS NAME ANYWAY KEEP UP THE GUD WARK
Ha ha ha. I'm aiming for the end of the year for the last part, and maybe a bonus video. Search Snake might be appropriate if you forgot my name and went searching for me...
+GeminiLaser Thanks. It's not like I'm complaining, it's always been quality over quantity for me. And the quality of your videos is astonishing; every video is worth the wait and more. You probably hear this a lot, so I'm gonna stop. P.S. Holy crap, you have a beard.
Ah, one of the last major MM games I still haven't played. It's in my collection, but I've been holding off until I finish Battle Network 3 to savor my unplayed Mega Man games as long as possible.
I wouldn't really call what Elec Man has so much as a pattern, rather, an exploit. I really doubt that the developers intended you to just stand there and shoot him repeatedly. And I don't really care what anyone says, a Mega Man boss should not have a pretty fast projectile attack that kills in three hits.
I suppose that's true, though it's tough to draw the line unless something is obviously a glitch. Shooting him at a particular moment with your regular weapon doesn't feel to me like an exploit the way, say, pausing rapidly in MM2 to slow your momentum while falling does. And I completely agree about the last part-I'll let it slide if it's a super-mega-ultra attack that doesn't happen often, but dodging an attack like that once per second is just not acceptable.
I was sick for a couple weeks and then started traveling for the holidays, so I'm behind on my recording schedule. If at all possible, I hope to have a new video up before the end of the week, but we'll see how that goes! And the intent is to play all the way through MM10, though that's a LONG way off. In the meantime, check out my Collaborations playlist; you'll find a livestream playthrough of MM10 there.
