Employee in the Writer's Room: Aright this all sounds great! Sooo, when are we gonna introduce the source material? All other writers:............What.. Source material? Employee: From the Megaman games?... All other writers: We're working on a Megaman show?? Moral of the story: This should not exist.
This show's probably bad but Totally Ripped Dr. Light needs to be made canon in the games. Like do a prequel to Mega Man 1 where you play as Dr. Light in his younger days when he was built like a truck and you just walk around and tear evil robots apart with your bare hands. I'd 100% play that.
...not to mention the fact that Megaman gains the weapons BEFORE he defeats an enemy....and defeats them with their own weapon? Thats...uhm...not the way it works.
The best thing about "Me, an intellectual:" is that the grammatically correct way to state it would be "I, an intellectual:" Sorry for being a nerd, and ruining this entire chain.
Sigh... Another cartoon that's being generically written, has bland characters, and I swear if I see another 3D cartoon that looks like PAW Patrol, I'm gonna lose it.
Neverhoodian Isn’t it? I found it really good, even season one, but the games? no. Rise of Lyric wasn’t fun. 3DS one was kinda ok? Never played Fire and Ice but I heard it was better.
I don't think "because kids show" can justify anything. There are kids shows with good writing, and kids aren't really dumb. We should hold the writing to the same standard as anything else.
I have a question, and it's a rather simple question: How in the bloody hell do you screw up Mega Man, especially _Classic_ Mega Man? I mean, did these people even play any of the games, and did Capcom approve of this? If so, have they even watched the show? I just have so many questions about it, because this show is barely anything like the Mega Man I'm familiar with. Now, I understand if they were wanting to do a new take on the franchise, but in all honesty, the whole thing feels like it was simply made based on the brand name alone with little to no regards to the source material. Say what you will about the Ruby Spears Mega Man cartoon, it may have taken some creative liberties, but it was at least _accurate_ to it's source material, while this... well, in all honesty, I don't know what it's trying to go for other than being one of the most by-the-numbers kid's shows out there.
I;m pretty sure CapCom approved this. They have been stuffing around with Megaman recently, I mean they are selling the Legacy collection on the switch, THROUGH INTERNET DOWNLOAD. YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE STORE TO DOWNLOAD SOMETHING THAT YOU COULD JUST GET BY USING NINTENDO'S E SHOP. AND THEY edit: put it on the E shop
Don't be surprised. There’s a Megaman manga out there that has an over-sexualized Roll, Megaman X wanting to f#ck her, and a Brazilian character that claims to want to kill *everyone* in the magna including the main characters for some bizarre reason. It was cancelled, but the mange is still trademarked by Capcom. (Watch it, it’s on RU-vid)
@EMERALD HEART STUDIOS that history is not true at all they were'nt making any Astroboy Game only was middly based un astro boy and some show similar to power Rangers
Humble Doggo And THAT’S the problem. Change a few designs and names, and you’ve got a completely different show. Nobody would’ve cared if this didn’t have Megaman attached to it.
I know right, a new design that is different, but still tell you there that character, I'd watch it, but replace roll with the generic little sister character and replace rock with that guy from Paw patrol, and give him a navi you cant get rid of, and you blew up that sh*t
Humble Doggo Personally, I don’t really mind the show existing. It’s its own series in its own universe; let it do what it wants so long as it puts a spin on the original. Same could be said with Megaman.exe (and by extension Starforce I guess) and while it does pay more homages to its source material than this, it’s also a pretty drastic departure from regular Megaman as well. I dunno, I suppose I might be mad if this was the only Megaman content we were getting nowadays, but we’ve got MM11, X Collection’s X Challenge, and Megaman in Smash Ultimate coming. Why would you care about this?
For a cartoon that tries SUPER HARD to remind me it's based on a videogame (with the sprites segments and the music) it sure looks nothing like the source material. This is flopping I'm calling it.
This is SERIOUSLY giving me Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures vibes. Highschool setting, themes of racism, antagonists in the original games being allies in the shows (Wily & Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde), an episode about a presidential election, even the main antagonists look similar! Though TBH I think PMatGA is probably better.
X-khou man I'm tired of racism g Being the go to. I know Americans and maerica has problems but the cartoon world isn't amways the best and it's played out. Gargoyles was this great show. But the last season ruined it with how heavy handed that was. That was done great in the x men. Plus robotics or genetics aren't really equivalent to racism. Gundam seed did the same. Compare it to wing. Sometimes the solution is to remove something. These are issues way beyond discrimination. Plus it's not what classic megsmsn is really about. I didn't like mm9s story cause it was too close to x series.
D. San What’s odd is that in PMatGA racism isn’t a huge theme. Before he became a hero, he was constantly bullied for being yellow, mostly by a bully named Skeebo. After he became a hero, the other students respected him and stopped being racist, except for Skeebo, who is a racist bully throughout the whole series. There’s no episodes really FOCUSED on racism, there’s just 1 character who’s a racist asshole. There’s conflict with the pac-people and the ghosts, but they’re not really different races, as they very clearly establish that the ghosts are dead pac-people. IDK it’s weird.
somehow i have the feeling, when they bring in Clock Man, he attacks Wily, makes Wily older, wich have him go insane & we have the classic Dr. Wily in the show
If you look at all the other media relating to Mega Man Classic, you'll see that robots expressing emotions isn't actually that new. Sure, they might include a vague disclaimer that the robots only "simulate" emotions and don't genuinely "feel" them, but that doesn't really change the fact that a lot of the robots still exhibit human behaviour rather than the logic-driven, expressionless behaviour you'd expect from robots outside of the Mega Man franchise.
The universe is clearly different, they could have changed the rules here and there. Plus, do you really expect the show to jump to the X series as some point?
Some of the robot masters had some good redesigns like Fireman and Drill Man while some are lazy like Air Man but yeah it's a poor Mega Man cartoon totally missing Pharoah Man being awesome
@@Everik-ct6pg A romhack wouldn't have anything to do with authenticity (though it would certainly help with staying in NES limitations). It's learning how the artstyle works and applying that into the work.
@@old.148 There are alot of current events jokes in it. Lazy writers parody current events in kids shows when they don't know how to engage adults who see the show. Megaman parroting Donald's campaign style is a pretty blatant example, it so direct that even if it was funny now, it certainly won't be a few years from now.
I know people are comparing this to Pac-Man and the ghostly adventures, but at least I can say that Pac-Man actually looked pretty good when it comes to the CGI, this show just looks like a preschool show made by Nick honestly, I actually saw 2D art for this show and actually looked pretty good
Josh 64 you say it’s the worst yet you only “heard” it’s terrible? Well lemme tell you that the games, except Fire & Ice, are pretty bad. The tv show and comics were well-received though.
An idea I would love to see in a future Rockman game is the concept of being damaged more by robot masters if you are using a special weapon from a boss that gets damaged more by the mentioned robot master’s special weapon. For clarification, You’d be killed faster by Fireman by being Hyper Bomb Rockman.
Man, the one thing I hate about this is everything that it changes about the characters, story, and everything, before 11 comes out. I’d rather there be a Megaman cartoon more accurate to the source material, so that way kids will be like.. “I wanna learn more about Megaman!” “Hey, he looks just like in the cartoon, and he’s fighting against the Robot Masters and Dr. Wily!” “Roll’s in this game? Cool!” instead of.. “Where’s Bert, Sgt. Night and Suna? Roll’s not Megaman’s sister!” “Where’s Megaman’s light-up armor? I don’t like this. He’s got stupid-looking armor now.”
HunterSt I wouldn’t say so. There’s only a few things that would need to be changed around, like names or designs. Even the Dreamwave Megaman comics had him at school, but with correct source material, and a few new characters, like his classmates.
Afterthought YES! That’s 100% what I’m feeling about this right now. Also that the robot designs that aren’t Robot Masters are very, very generic. No humanoids except for “Aki”. I would’ve liked it if the robot pals humans have in the show were friendly and smaller versions of Megaman robots, like Big Eye Minis or Metools
i dont understand man of action.....They couldve easily just removed the small robot and make burt wiley protoman and make HIS father Dr. Wiley so that there is a parallel to megaman and dr light. I fear for this show. I could still be different but they try to hard to make everything too gimicky. The writing is pretty bad. It's suppose to be a kid show but messages are a bit weird and feel like they're just dumped on you like bad cartoons in the 90's. Nothing makes sense XD and it feels random
Gravity Gamer too bad no modern cartoon makes any sense, and if you don’t like it? 10 years old who enjoy crap like this would just say “ IT’S NOT FOR YOU” just like for TTG, Thundercat Roar and Shera reboot. -_-
Well, it's been theorized that the only perfect form of government is a benign dictatorship. ...Problem being that no mortal man is perfect or benign. xD
Matthew Jones either the benign dictator, or perhaps everyone cooperates without a government ....Problem being there is no way that enough people have enough self control for that to ever work.
Having fully equiped, resistant and disposible fire fighter robots running away at the first sing of danger is a pretty good warning of how stupid things were going to be.
Well I don’t watch Disney Jr shows. It’s just that I couldn’t find the remote and the TV was stuck on the Disney Channel. It took me about more than one month to find the remote.
When i saw that weird color on Suna's face, i just assumed she was either always drunk, or she blushes all the damn time could just be wearing some sorta make up for all we know.
I worked on this show as mostly a concept artist for the interiors of the light house, school, powerplant ect, our concept team had a blast working on it while blasting Megaman osts, I never had anything to do with the writing but I am massive fan and tried to have as many throw backs as I could and where it could be in the timeline. Hope some people enjoy it!
Sorry to say I didn't, but keep up your work as an artist. I didn't like the show, but you designs for the locations look great, and I hope you can find work for other cartoons.
Yeah this series isn’t really that special. Damn shame to cus this is suppose to bring a new generation in to Mega Man. If I was CN I would just remake the Archie Comics. It would advertise the games very well, gives opportunities for merchandise thanks to the robot masters and original characters, and it would just tell good stories for all ages.
Exactly this! The comics were well-written and told great stories that were game-accurate as well as original. I think if they had a formula similar to that, this cartoon could’ve been a lot better.
the amount squandered potential for classic inspired megaman show is saddening 3 times they've attempted animated projects for classic megaman. and now 3 out of 3 are kinda jank. you have the ruby spears cartoon that's only good as a guilty pleasure. the ova series that's weirdly about educating kids on japan for some reason. then there's this where it reeeeally feels phoned in. There's so much untapped potential for a megaamn inspired TV series based on the main series. why is it so hard for that to happen? to qoute jelloapocalypse "sure, you could show this to a kid and htey'd be content with it. but they'd also be content with something good. so there."
I wonder how the world would’ve turned out if the Ruby-Spears Megaman pitch footage came true. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tfoeasCeh44.html
to be honest you forgot the NT show hell that a million time better too and more accurate then this show and that was based on an alternative timeline of megaman
un monigote montado en nyan cat como foto de perfil I don't watch enough to know. But that show seems better. Better designs. Plus it's it's own thing as far as I know. So it's fine I guess
....Then why haven't they released Megaman 11 yet? Oh my fucking god, are you that stupid? Please tell me you are a poe, I am begging you. Megaman 11 is literally coming out in two fucking months on October 2nd. If you are a troll/poe, I salute you in you actually getting me to fall for your nonsense. Good show. However, if not, just fuck right off. As for Quickman DWN12 here, I literally do not care what CN does? Why does anyone still watch CN these days? The channel is full of garbage anyway. It died back in 2005.
I grew up watching Megaman.exe/NT Warrior, so this was a really disappointing show to learn about. Megaman with Disney Jr-esque animation and no respect for the original source material? Lovely..
