notice that this was made way before the DX romhack that is linked in the description, would recommend using that one instead to be able to play on any emulator/real hardware instead of relying on this crappy emulator
The good thing with the four first Megaman on the gameboy is that we know what the color palette should be like as it's mostly taken from the NES games.
@@psoslash haven't played any of the versions in a while, but Shadow Man and Drill Man stages for example look pretty similar to me. Not a big deal, still a good job.
I played the nes as a poor kid in the later 90's while my friends played the ps2 or whatever was out and i loved my nes. Mega man 3 is a game i borrowed from my cousin and snake mans stage is my favorite music. I used to hum along with the song as i played the stage lol its cool to see the gb version sounds like the nes one
Mega man world 6: Flame man Blizzard man Plant man Tomahawk man Burst man Cloud man Junk man Shade man Rockman world 7: Freeze man Slash man Spring man Turbo man Frost man Tengu man Clown man Grenade man
Now that you mention it, it does make sense. For the first game, they were most likely taking hardware limitations in mind, but starting with the second game and beyond, they made it as a way to help players figure out the Weakness Order.

(7:00) Por lo menos Shadowman en este juego, no es tan dificil en comparación a su contraparte en MM 3 de NES, que solo se podía matar con Top Spin. (Si no ponen a Topman en el juego, es un crimen).
Topman was in Rockman World 2/Megaman II; the first four Gameboy games had a pattern of four Robot Masters from one Nes game and four from the next. Rockman World 1: Cutman, Elecman, Iceman, Fireman, Bubbleman, Heatman, Flashman, Quickman Rockman World 2: Woodman, Airman, Crashman, Metalman, Magnetman, Hardman, Topman, Needleman Rockman World 3: Snakeman, Geminiman, Shadowman, Sparkman, Skullman, Dustman, Drillman, Diveman Rockman World 4: Toadman, Brightman, Pharaohman, Ringman, Crystalman, Napalmman, Stoneman, Chargeman
We would've gotten this way earlier in the 2000's if capcom didn't lose the source code of these games. Also i hate to complain about this, but volume is way too low.
@@GoldenFenrir Yeah true. Wario Land 1 has finally been colourised recently. If the source code was a real problem then how is it that pirated versions of GB megaman games where able to not only hack the games, but also add colour to the games?
@@Mr.madmight266In hindsight, this felt like the sort of project more suited to the Game Boy Color. Yeah, none of the fancy GBA features, but releasing color rereleases of GB games would be a lot easier on the GBC (in fact proven with stuff like Link’s Awakening DX)
It took me 3 months to beat the game in about 1997, and you made it in 1 hour. Nice! BTW do you know how to patch it as a GB(C) file? I got some IPS from the creator but it all fails, makes some junk colors...
not sure what are you talking about but pretty sure it isn't this one, this is just a custom graphics pack for a specific emulator that is only available on pc, so there is no ips patch i do recommend checking out marcmax dx patches, already has 1 and 5 available and plans to release color versions of 2 and 3 sometime this year
So is this just a sprite swap in special emulator or do you hex edit addresses to add color I use to do that to nes games if I added a sprite to a game and needed to change its color
Checked out the emulator that's awsome what you can do with the graphics and simple to use no hex editing etc which is what I'm use to from the nes emulators
@@psoslash maybe since they will re-release that feature in the future after all the bugs are fixed unless someone else works on the older version and improves it its still a cool gb feature emulators have came along way it would be great to see everyone creating new games or improvements from emulators cause ik not everyone knows how to do the old ways of rom hacking
I remember watching my cousin play this on his game boy the same day he got was the same day he beat it i remember writing down the passwords good times and memories, but this game was hard to find in stores
This looks so cool; Too bad there isn't an innate rom hack that adds colour. Only Megaman V got that treatment. IV did too but the hack is poor quality and requires fiddling with the settings or it stays in black and white.
@@psoslash Oh yeah, forgot about the first one. Fingers crossed that someone cares enough to create one for the remaining games. I love how Super Mario Land 1-3 got this treatment too as well as the Kirby games.
That's the downside to the Gameboy games: he didn't color change in the first place. (Seeing as there wasn't any colors to change in the first four Gameboy games; but since Rockman World 5/Megaman V had Super Gameboy support, maybe there was some color change there.)
this emulator is the only one that supports custom textures, which is the point of the showcase and about snake man... who cares, it's a semi-blind run
