This might be one of the best levels I've seen! It's super well put together, and the theming is consistent despite the setting changes, very fun to play!
Oh wow this is my stage! I'm surprised but flattered it got showcased here. It's currently my highest rated and most played stage, and I'm very pleased with how it turned out and the overall reception. My only regret with this stage is that between this video and watching a friend play it, I've noticed that my intended solution for the rock switch room at 4:50 is completely skipable. Which is a design flaw I don't know how to work around. The intended method for hitting the switch was to shoot the enemy all the way across the screen until the rock lands on it. Then pick up the rock with Super Arm after it traveled back to its starting point, and throw it into the switch from a safe distance. I didn't account for Super Arm's spawned blocks to allow you to cheese it with basic platforming. I see you also skipped raising the water in the first water switch room. I really wish the vanilla MM1 version of Guts Man's weapon was in the game: Super Arm is too OP to design around, haha. Edit: Someone on the Mega Man Maker Discord has suggested a way to force the intended solution but I don't intend to update this stage until version 1.9, if I revisit it at all. Edit 2: Thank you so much for playing the level!
When we design a level we always expect the player to do what we planned, but if there are alternatives they will probably be explored, I don't think this is a problem but if you want to avoid the player acting differently than intended you have to evaluate the room thoroughly to foresee this. It is not an easy task to make a complex room with only one alternative.
@@neocutman3030 Oh I get ya. It's definitely hard for puzzle rooms. I'm also not against alternatives, it's just that room in particular, the alternative involved using another feature from the same exact weapon I designed the puzzle around, so it was a bit jarring to me when I saw the spawned blocks being the faster and easier solution. But hey, it's all a learning experience and if people are having fun I can't really complain. Thank you again for playing!
