I uploaded the Mega Man games years ago, but I've grown dissatisfied with their blurry encodes, so here is a brand new playthrough in 4K to bring it up to the standards of my more recent work. Thanks for checking it out!
If I remember correctly, the only image on the back of this game's now infamous box was the stage select screen, which I incorrectly inferred as a character select which was huge disappointment upon finding out I had to play as this lame blue guy. I wasn't a big fan of this one and could never beat anyone but Gutsman when I first rented it, so I wrote it off and moved on. Then Mega Man 2 showed up in Nintendo Power and it looked so awesome! I eventually went back to the original and am able to complete it pretty easily today, but this is my least favorite game in the NES series outside of the totally uninspired sixth.
Wow. The memories. My brother and I used to play this. Whenever one of us was playing without the other around and it looked like we would get further in the game, we would record the audio and video on vhs and then play it for the other when they got home.
This is the very first game that got me super stoked for chiptune music. If I look hard enough, I'll someday find the long lost cassette tape I made way back in '88 wich has my 12 year old voice singing along with Bombman Stage Theme.
Yellow Devil was my nightmare when I was a kid. He was so fk cheap. It was impossible to dodge when he moved his body parts and every time he opened his eye, we could only give him one shot and hope that the bullet from his eye would miss us. Luckily, he could be easily killed by the pause bug, the only boss in megaman seri deserved that treatment.
The MegaMan Game that Started it all. I was 5 months old when it was first Released. (Though never played it or Demonstrated with to look at that time) The Blue Bomber's Debut who Fights for Everlasting Peace for Great Justice!
So begins my very favorite saga on the NES, the 8-bit franchise that has stayed with me the most of them all. What else needs to be said about Mega Man? It's an absolute classic. Pure sidescrolling run n' gun perfection. Of all games of the era, I'd say the Mega Man games have aged the best. I enjoy playing them every bit as much today as I did decades ago. Confession: I may have been a little late to the Mega Man train compared to some: I got into Mega Man around 2006 or so, when Powered Up! on the PSP came out, which was a remake of this game. Intrigued by the cute characters and interesting weapon system I saw in a magazine, I gave the very first game a try, fell in love with it, and went through the series in order from that point on. The rest is history. Aside from the games' ingenious structure, innovative, challenging level design and creative bosses, what really got me what the *soundtrack.* Immediately upon starting the game for the first time and entering Cut Man's stage, my mind was blown by how much it slapped. I will never forget that. Mega Man music, in my opinion, is some of the greatest in all of gaming, no, in anything music _ever._ No joke, this is the series that got me into music, and made me appreciate it more! Classics like the aforementioned theme of Cut Man, Bubble Man, Snake Man etc. are some of my favorite songs _of all time._ I cannot sing enough praise for the composers of Mega Man soundtracks. They're just amazing. So yeah, Mega Man's kind of one of my favorite game franchises of all time, by this point, I've played just about every game save for the Legends and Battle Network series, and I love...most of them. Keiji Inafune may no longer work for Capcom, Mighty No. 9 may have failed, Mega Man 11 was decent, but even still, I'll always keep hoping for a bright future for the Blue Bomber. *FIGHT,MEGAMAN! FOR EVERLASTING PEACE!*
This one is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, I enjoy the simplicity here, as rough as the whole package may be. For this I prefer it over 2 and 3, mostly because those two have… less than desirable endgames.
The beginning of a great long running and one of my all time favorite franchises. While it feels a bit dated compared to every entry that succeeded it, Mega Man 1 still a worthy entry to check out solely for the IP's humble beginning and how some of its elements pioneered the action platformer genre as a whole. A very good start to the series overall.
Not much to say about the original for me, other than I like how the ending theme was later re-used for the intro to MM2. I also prefer the boss rush rematch being periodically, like how it was in MMX.
Very important first step, even if nowadays MM1 may seem rather simple compared to its sequels. I like it still, even though there are better Mega Man games all things considered.
I find the first game to be tougher than its sequels, personally. Megaman has worse traction than he does in the later games, the levels and bosses themselves are more challenging than the later games and it just doesn't feel as balanced as say Megaman 3.
@@Dorian_Scott Well, it's true. Especially when jumping and landing, Megaman feels like a brick gaining momentum from a high place cause the Gutsman level and some of the platforming can be abit frustrating if you don't time the jump.
1:58 most video game characters despite mostly being made out of flesh only takes some damage and don't immediately die (despite the fact they should be impaled in real life) while Mega Man who is a robot made of metal and Ceratanium not only dies immediately but explodes
Hopefully you’ll do Zelda 2 on the nes as that game is brutally impossible to figure out without watching a RU-vid video. I’m playing it on my gba and I never beat the game before despite playing it when it first came out.
Ah yes, the game with the infamous bad box art that doesn't represent the game at all. Heck, Bad Box Art Mega Man was even a playable character in Street Fighter X Tekken.
Hello there, I'm working on a review for the original Mega Man and was wondering if I could use your footage in the background of alot of my video, with credit of course
Mega Man (NES) All Bosses (No Damage) Boss 1 Bomb Man Boss 2 Guts Man Boss 3 Cut Man Boss 4 Elec Man Boss 5 Ice Man Boss 6 Fire Man Boss 7 Bond Man Boss 8 Yellow Devil Boss 9 Copy Robot Boss 10 CHU-21P Final Boss Dr. Wily
I almost beated the game but i couldn't get past guts man level it was to hard for me because i played this at the age of 3 but could i get some replies on what i could have done?
Use save state before facing the 4 bosses and Dr Willy. Willy's first form's weakness is his flame gun. Then in the second way you can hit with Cutman's weapon as shown in the video. I personally used the flame gun to defeat Willy's second form, but the scissors are also a great strategy.
2:33 wait is that… a 1-up behind a sniper joe? But my megaman legacy collection has save states and a rewind feature what’s the point? And if they’re gonna have 1-up, why have save states and rewind?
