Mega Man X: Corrupted Release Date?

I’ve stopped looking for this game. At this point I feel like the creators are just dangling the carrot in front of our faces with their weekly streams. If it ever does get released I’ll venture into it at that point

they have a spread sheet that tracks their progress on mmxc development. so far 5 of the 8 boss stages are done. 4 of the 6 transistion stages(stages in-between boss zones) are done. none of the 5 'fortress' stages are done. The game is roughly 50% done. so more or less another 20years max.

I’ve been waiting for this game since early days of it’s announcement; however I lost interest on it altogether after so many years of waiting. Here’s what I would do if I was a dev: 1-Release a demo so people can experience the work and give feedback 2-If I receive any warnings from Capcom; would instantly announce that and stop development. I mean sure it’s cool to see a fan game being created and with so many interesting design and mechanics, but not being able to play it? That’s technically wasting everyone’s time.

Damn, I remember finding out about this game from the X Ultimate Armor showcase in like middle school. It was kind of an interesting development history tbh. Also I kind of like seeing these theory's, even though I know some ain't true. Also I think you have a great voice.

Considering it's a fan work that's gotten pretty big in scope over the years I can't say I really mind the wait too much. At the end of the day it's important to remember that, while he does get money out of the twitch streams, developing the game isn't his job and he isn't technically obligated to go by anyone's schedule. Would I like it if the game came out tomorrow? Heck yeah, but I know nothing good ever came out of being rushed and merely just seeing the improvements and updates they've made along the way keeps me pretty hopeful since it's not like the game isn't actually being worked on now. I'm not gonna say "Be patient" for it if your already not interested anymore since this game has been in development since I was in middle school and I imagine it's the same for a lot of other people, but with more games than ever releasing with a "put it out now finish it later" approach, i'm okay to wait on anything so long as it's good on release. Sides, AM2R was 8 years in development for example before it finally came out so I don't think there's any reason to think JKB is just purposefully showing off something he has no plans of releasing and I hate the fact that anyone thinks someone would pour that much time and energy into something just to be that petty.

I just hope that the developer doesn't get into a freak accident and die before it's finished. That would be indescribably horrible.

I HIGHLY doubt there's a cease and desist involved. Honestly I just think he likes the attention on the development stage and has no intention to release am actual playable game for the public. Or also, could in fact be doing it for donations and empty promises

This game looks incredible so I hope it does actually get released before we all look like the lady at 0:22 (also seeing that clip shot me back in time 15 years)

Capcom should just hire this guy and make this an official entry in the Mega Man franchise. SEGA did that with Sonic Mania which also started out as a fan game.

If he was hit with a dcma he would not be continuing working on it and capcom is not nintendo there are alot of fan made games being made and have been up and running for Years the only thing to happen to him is being hired on to capcom or they publish his game

This is definitely a waste of time at this point. People have been patient enough. Release it or stop with all the updates, the entire game will be shown before release!

I think this is a very accurate opinion! I thought the same the other day, this guy is just taking advantage of the attention he is getting on his live development streams (and the donations jejejeje), maybe when people stop watching them, he may release the game, or the game simply disappears in the darkness, I don't want to sound ungrateful it's a great game! Likewise, I'm dying to play it, but come on! It's been more than 10 years already. Most of us have been supporting this project since the beginning, by the time they release it or cancel it, most of us will be so old, or simply won't have the time to play it. Honestly JKB Games, in part, thank you for trying to do what capcom didn't do, we understand that you have a life and the effort you're putting into this also the years you have been working doing this... but.... I think it is time to release it and move on. You will have the same attention on future projects.

As much as l am looking forward for this game but it's pains me to say that I gave up hope about game release

Dude has added so many new elements to the games during it's lifespan that keeps stretching the process out. Let's redesign the sprites even though the SNES sprites looked perfectly fine as is, suuuuure. Let's add multiple characters when the game isn't even fully fleshed out yet, suuuure. Let's release gameplay footage of a demo but not publicly release it, suuuuure. Idk, I give the dude props for how good everything looks... but his management & deadline skills suck. He doesn't owe us anything, but a smarter person in his position would be releasing demos at this point and doing some sort of public debugging. If the game comes out? Cool. But honestly, I've kind of given up hope at this point.

Hearing the old Zero theme in the background kind of makes me sad that they changed it.

No idea if it will ever be released, but I'll keep on hoping. The game looks incredible. Like a proper sequel with fresh ideas spun out from the classic (perfect) core. Then again most X games aside from 1-2-4 had half baked or poorly implemented systems. A man can dream.

I mean I'm excited for Megaman X corrupted because this fan game is the only closest we have to x9 and to be honest I'm still patient about the release date of this game and honestly it takes a lot of time to develop these types of fangames so I'm just going to wait until it gets release.

In the year 21xx lol 🤣 In more than ten years and even when he changed the platform, he didn't give a demo of the unfinished project , or even shared the base with the fans , he just trow it away , literally closing the door to many others potential fans create new games from it . If anything doesn't matter to me so much , i think there's really others projects that need support from fans.

I've seen people say they'd be fine if the game was outright cancelled, and that JKB had no obligation to release it in the first place. Those kinds of people are what worry me.

late 2023...trust me,I've seen the dark ages...they looked way grimmer than now,we already have 5 mav stages completed and 1 getting ready to completion,not to mention the in between stages and 7 out of 8 mavs ready,its not dead yet... the game is basically 60% done

ill be honest, this game looks SO good, I will still be happy if I can play this in 30 years from now. I will patiently wait my whole life and I will die happy if I can play this during my life. if not, I will die a sad and unfulfilled death and I'll remain as a ghost to haunt this world until I can somehow play this.

I started following the project from the start. I honestly think it is a joke and there is no game and everything is just an animation

I’m not saying that I give up hope, but considering the millions of Megaman fangames out, Megaman games available, and numerous of other games to play, and even my own project, I could wait an eternity for this game. In short, at one point I was super hyped for this game but then I like ehh, I’ll wait for when it releases. I’ll much rather have an enjoyable game with a few minor bugs and a couple of major ones than a game with a bunch of bugs because the creator keeps generating ideas but with failure to connect the strings

Ain’t no cease and desist. He’s making bank and he has every right to. He works hard for something he literally can’t sell. That’s the situation. If IP’s weren’t protected, he’d be the good example of holding up to the spirit of the IP but we can’t have good things in this world so, this is how ‘everyone’ wins.

No, capcom dont cancel fan games, less in this case, capcom support hack roms and variants (Megaman X street Fighter was a fan-game, but capcom said: hey, want make it actually a official game?. and then hire the developers), so no, capcom is not nintendo, they just keep it, if they dont ASK for money during the development. (like making the fan-game purcheable for money or using sistems like patron) 2. the twitch earnings are very low, not a lot of people donate or give bits. 3. the game development have advanced a lot, they have a PUBLIC google forums with the completted-WIP-not even started, parts of the game. (almost a 60% is completed now or a 40% im not sure) 4. the development have been """""20""""" years because the game have varius changes about the stages, even completed ones in before phases of the development have been reworked. 5. they are only like 3 or 5 devs, ONLY 3 persons, doing sprites, programation, animations, sound effects, music, etc. even the history. 6. the project started in the 2000s yes, but started as a simple hack rom, this year they decided to change it into a WHOLE game, not a modified rom. 7. they changed the programation system, from FLASH to HTML5 in 2020/2021 8. they dont have completed has they want the game, so they gonna release it when the game has been COMPLETED. so still waiting.
