Mega Man X2 Zero Playable - Graphic and Text Fix

1- In the select screen stage changed the X emblem for the Zero emblem.
2- The Zero parts that you normally collet are now X parts (To reflect the change on the protagonist).
3- The 1 life Up now display the Zero face instead of X.
4- The Text now matches Zero, except in the capsules.

This is truly an amazing “what if” story there. I can say it took place after Zero defeated Sigma for the first time; however, X was killed by Vile and Zero broke free and avenged his death by destroying Vile. Now, Zero is on his own and must fight the X-Hunters.

Oh, no, no, no. X was the one Vile captured and blew himself up. This isn't a headcanon thing. There's a Z1 and a Z3 as well as this Z2. Z1 had more details to it. Dr. Wily leaves upgrade capsules around instead of Dr. Light. You get the Z-saber instead of the hadoken.

I loved that, too. In the Zero playable X1, his full charge is green (like X's mid charge), and the super charge is golden or yellow instead of pinkish purple

This could be an alternate timeline, instead of Zero dying X takes his place. But Zero still would've looked like he did back in Mega Man X.

Looks like the Saber works here the same way it does in X3: charge the Buster until you glow green, fire one charged shot, fire the other charged shot, then let loose the "F-U Blade". Not sure if this hack keeps the power from X3, but the X3 version of the Beam Saber swing can drop a boss's lifebar by half in a single hit (so you basically one-shot the majority of stuff, and two-shot bosses).

Also - considering the whole Serges is Wily theory, it wouldn't make sense for him to need to hide recordings subliminally encouraging him to embrace his destructive potential when he's actively monitoring him in the body of a reploid (Wily did basically create reploid technology in parallel to Light and could easily see him transferring his consciousness into one)

I want something like this, but for X1, and not a remake. Zero would have his own physical techniques, including the Flame Kick, and Bass's Sonic Crusher. Original sprites and everything, like the Mega Man X project Zero. check it out!

OMG - HUGE missed opportunity to have wire sponge's silhouette the one that slices in half when you use Ostrich's weapon his weak to if you defeat him using the Z-saber as the final blow!!! Such a good easter egg that would've made it just that extra much more special

The first 4 X games were without a doubt the best in the series with X3 being the weakest. But 1, 2 and 4 were masterpieces.

I wouldnt say x3 is the weakest but they did try to do way too much in one game. They should have focused more on the characters and less on ride armors.

I noticed that in the fight where X would normally fight Zero, that in this hack Zero fights X instead. However, I know in the original game that if you have all Zero's parts, Sigma creates a fake Zero and destroys it. Does that mean if you have all the parts, does Sigma create a fake X in this hack? What actually happens?

I'd assume so. Sigma's agenda is to spread the maberick virus to all reploids and could easily see him using X as a pawn to manipulate Zero because his protective nature. Probably would play out the same with the characters sprites swapped and some different dialogue. X comes in wearing full armor and blast away an inferior copy of him (in this scenario, i imagine Sigma wanting to lure Zero with X to take control of him instead of trying to control X directly). I gotta play this hack and see both endings now, lol

Impressive, but why was air dash cut? It uses the same sprite as a normal dash. Or was positioning said sprite too visually misleading? As Zero is bigger than X (saw him getting his head BBQed in the volcano)

Huh. Mine always has a messed up stage select screen. It also annoys me that, for some reason, the leg upgrades just do not function. I understood removing the arm upgrade. Zero already has it. But why remove air dash?

More annoying is that the Arm Capsule isn't the Z-Saber enabler. I mean, ZS debuted properly in this game!

@@gonzalotorres5282 They didn't even put a capsule in Wheel Gator's stage at all. Which, of course, means no matter what, you can't get the shoryuken. Even if all the capsules were in the game, with the leg parts being useless, you can't survive the obstacle course needed to get to it.

@@walterpetersen776 What? Zero doesn't have an air dash in this game. You can see it when you get the leg parts. X jumps and air dashes to show it off, but Zero just hops in place.

I wish there was a SNES romhack of mmx games with Zero having the same moves as the ps1 games (3 slash combo and EX skills). "Why not play the ps1 games then?" I do play them, mostly X5, but in terms of graphics, I prefer SNES tho

i dont get these playable zero roms for the snes games that just make it X3 zero specially with the double charge and Z-saber sometimes even still having the instantkill. couldnt they try and make it play a little diferently?

Actually he doesn't have his saber until after his X2 form. There's a X1 zero mod that doesn't use a saber at all, and uses the original body sprite. This one uses X2 zero sprite, but i agree that it's kinda weak they just added the X3 mechanics onto it. Would've at least preferred the arm upgrade to be whe you get the sword and then can do that Green charge - could work into the lore of these Zero projects where Wily is in the capsules and subliminally encouraging him to take over the world.

You'd need to have a Super Nintendo emulator on Android anyway. There's plenty of options, such as Snes9x EX+.

I was able to play mega man z on snes9x on my android (a mega man x hack wasn't a complicated hack more a skin swap on x) but thats been about it I have had nothing but heartache trying to play any romhacks on android snes9x or no, its weak sauce for sure.

@@hackgameslongplaychannel nearly ALL SNES games were designed and made for 4:3 and run at 4:3 on a television and have rectangle shaped pixels. Who said they are supposed to be ran at pixel perfect aspect, have you got the slightest slither of intelligence?

@@filevans The SNES has an internal resolution of 256×224, which is an 8:7 ratio for square pixels. When the games are displayed, this is stretched to 4:3, so the pixels aren’t square and have a pixel aspect of 7:6. Some games are made with this in mind, and compensate for the stretch. However, there are plenty of other games that don’t have this correction. Two examples are Super Mario World, and Yoshi's Island.

@@hackgameslongplaychannel when they developed them and made the artwork everything was in 4:3!! that's how they were made, developed and intended for! a snes console does not run at 8:7 on ANY television. just because you can do it on an emulator doesn't make it right, the snes had RECTANGLE PIXELS WITH 4:3 RATIO, NOT 8:7 with square pixels, and it just looks WRONG AND SQUISHED
