This is the psx version of mmx3 though? It has the fmv sequences when selecting the boss. Although there certainly was some level of retrofitting

The link in the description brings us to the Zero Project, but otherwise makes no mention of the shadow armor. Did they update the hack, or is this post-processing? The gameplay appears to be post processed on top of zero given the 2 buster shots before the saber are the same, and X can double jump, which I remember from playing this mod is something Zero can do but not X. Another indicator is that, when you defeat byte, the letter T shows before the dialogue is skipped. When defeated by Zero using ray splasher or tornado fang, Byte starts by saying “This… this is impossible!” Either way, nice playthrough!

the Rom works with the zero playable rom, with sprites edited and applied with tilemolester. the tiles are in the description but are not finished since we can't find all the correct tiles., the real problem is fix the pallete color and convert all that data in a patch. Have no idea how to do that. but share a ips file on romhacking is in mind.

I was initially expecting to see the gameplay using a mod that replicated the abilities and limitations of the shadow armor, but as cool as it looks, it's more of an X with OP Z saber from the start. He can still use special weapons, can double jump and air dash, and no super jump and grabbing the ceiling.... Couldn't be sure of it, but I guess he also doesn't stick to walls

It's actually based on Zero, except he can now fire a projectile from the saber shot and his damage output isn't nerfed like with Project Zero's Zero.

There's a scenario in X3 that gives X the ability to use Zero's Z Saber, he merely started with it instead of earning it through the Sigma stages which sacrifices the ability to play as Zero for a lot more power (I've done it a ton of times on the SNES version of the game)

its strange to see the saber slice because ninja arent suppose to launch such projectiles, Samurais were the ones to do it. But regardless is fun to see people changing sprites/models of games all the times, it is the pinnacle of "This game/franchise its still alive thanks to its community" since many people out there still make mods/hacks of old games to implement and fix things.

Hi, I really wish the Maverick rematches were given more justice; like they become more aggressive in their attack patterns, speed and their "desperation moves" are triggered at the start of the battle. X5 handled it horribly by just doubling their health bars which makes the battle feels like a slog, drag and lame. The first Megaman X did the best in handling Maverick rematches, by spreading them around the level of the 3 Sigma stages

I forgot the shadow armor is similar to the Gaea (did I spell it right?)armor and they both are immune to spikes.
