Everything is all about stalling and getting tubed these days. Going for the picture to make a career. It starts to all look the same after awhile. Racing a wave down the line is so underrated. This has that. At size. So awesome.

It´s so hard to keep in mind that beneath this monster of a wave, lays razer sharp ULU reef. I remember it eating away my fins on low tide, huge respect for surfing it at that size. THANKS FOR SHARING

How the f did those guys paddle out? Through the cave? Nuts. I was at G land the day of this swell and it was just a big wash through mess with light on shore. Ulu def most consistent spot around. Catches all the swell and handles anything

These waves seem to go forever giving these guys the rides of their lives! I love these Bali videos!

Amazing thing to witness but a shame none of the guys were able to paddle into any of those waves.

Maroubra kneelo, the late Albert Whiteman had many EPIC solo sessions at solid Uluwatu, 18ft plus, some very similar sized day's to this on the longest kneeboard I've ever seen, I nicknamed it "Big Blue"... he had photo - sequences and some limited VHS footage of one particular day I know of. He had some great pic's around the walls of the Friar Tuck - Knormal shop/shaping H.Q. at Byron, circa 1986... Dave Parkes and Mark "Mono" Stewart would aptly testify to this. He would paddle out on his own, he was an absolute freak and seeing Uluwatu at this size being tackled really reminds me of gis spirit, may his soul rest in peace. Kudos and TOTAL respect for the guy's out there, especially the minute plus ride @0:45 and the near 90" ride @6:26... just ball's to the wall stuff. Good on yer's! Kindest regards :)

Getting caught inside looks like a nightmare

I got caught inside on a set of 25 foot waves when I was 14 years old. The most terrifying thing I've ever experienced. Luckily my leash didn't snap and the first 4 waves washed me back out of the impact zone and I was able to ride massive white water back in. The freaky thing is when you come up there's so much foam it's hard to get your face above it, also the current pulls you back down again and makes your legs feel like pretzels.

Those rides got to be at least a mile long!

First surf here was in 1985 at a solid 8ft...Now I understand how a board was stuck to the roof of the cave as I paddled out through it 👀

Pretty much every wave I ride feels this huge. I can't wait to switch from this big blue foam board to a short board.

Almost impossible to paddle into a fast moving wave at this size. Great boogie board ride. Insane down the line left! Wow, great video, best ulu I've ever seen.

It’s crazy to think that even once you get whipped in towing you are locked into that wave. If you bail out the back you get the next waves straight on the head with no leash. Probably the longest waves I’ve seen that are that size. It’s like a mixture of Cloudbreak with some crazy long left point. I guess just call it Uluwatu lol

Surfed it in '87 but not THAT big. Amazing wave and so down the line. Sometimes it even grows bigger as you ride it! This is underrated for a big wave! It's pretty amazing and so fast!
