I listened to Qbomb because I saw animation RU-vidr Worthikids had collabed with them but I had no idea they were connected to Mega64 so this was a really fun surprise.
I played No Man's Sky on PS4 with a friend on PC. While they were building up the base I decided to go check out a signal we'd picked up on the other side of the same planet. The game freaked out, crashed and everything in my inventory and my progress in the 'story' was completely reset. I played it by myself at a later date, but realised the experience of playing with others was what I really wanted from that game, and it wasn't a possibility for me.
Thank you for doing the Chanukah cast this year. I've started to get into my families Jewish roots this year. Though seeing the uptick in antisemitism in the last few months was very disappointing. Looking forward to watching the stream. Have a good Christmas guys.
I don't think Kojima ever actually wants to make a movie, despite how cinematic his games are. He's always trying to find ways to twist the gameplay and give the player a unique experience and the medium of film would be way too limiting
I resonate with Shawn with God of War. I know it’s good but I think I rather watch it because the story is interesting to me. The gameplay doesn’t click for me personally.
@@killerdls how would ya’ll feel about long ass cutscenes instead? Im at the point where i would literally prefer to just have an opportunity to pop some popcorn and get a drink in the middle of a play sesh if the game is going to be that slow and story focused. They want a game to be more like a movie? Then let me just watch it
The steamdeck "version" of No Man's Sky is not its own version, its just the PC version. It has nothing to do with the switch version and the graphics are untouched. I dunno if the switch version runs better than PS4, but don't use the steamdeck's amazing performance as a judgement factor for the switch version. They did code in Steam Input so the controls work nicely out of the box though.
Games are released requiring a day 1 patch anyway. If the servers go down, even physical copies will be useless. Just disconnect your system and see how far you can get in your physical game.
Derricks assumption of Avatar fans is so way off. I was 16 when Avatar came out & I love Pandora that world. I have books, figures, games. I am into Avatar like people are into StarWars. I am 29 years old now. Im really into the escapism. Getting immersed in that world. If anything Derrick sounds like the boomer who just doesnt like "the new thing thats popular"
Lol nah, they are just being honest with their personal take on the upcoming Avatar 2. So what, you want them to not be themselves and lie to our face about a movie they clearly don’t care about?? They didn’t really say anything insulting. It’s honestly the interesting part of the podcast. Everyone’s take on the film and talking about filmmaking and marketing without trying to appeal to the crowd, being true to themselves. It was a very insightful moment.
Shawn, you're not crazy, Ragnarok was mostly a boring slog for me too. Cannot believe that an entire team of developers thought Ironwood would be remotely fun. There's far too much 'push forward while the characters say redundant apologies to eachother' for an action game. Might have cared more if your side characters weren't all mopey too.
Derrick is on point about Avatar being for out of touch Boomers. Lost my shit when he went on how no kid is getting excited to see an old blue dude play family. hahahahaha
Why... does Rocco actually like Avatar? Its so derivative. I know he actually likes it but I feel like it just started as a joke but then he actually started liking it for real?
GoWR is my personal GotY, but I can definitely understand people getting frustrated with the yak sequence. It's the biggest thing people point to when talking about pacing for good reason. For me, though, it's one of only a few issues. The story and characters are 10/10 all the way through, the gameplay is varied between combat and puzzles, upgrades feel substantial, sidequests are extremely quality, a good blend of linear and open world design, and extra challenges that push you to the limit. I could go on. Elden Ring was phenomenal but completing everything felt like a chore towards the end, whereas my 55 hours with Ragnarok flew by and I could do more.
I personally know a lot of kids who are excited about Avatar and self-insert. Every adult I know is just cynical about it. Personally, I get mixed signals from everyone.
This was my first podcast and it was really hard to follow. There was no.. over arching vibe it just felt like friends shooting the shit which is like, what do you need a podcast for? Like, whats the point? The format is long, and it felt A.D.D as fuck
In response to physical games being “permanent” Everyones all happy till your town burns to the ground. Digital is technically more perpetual due to rom dumping & enthusiast archiving now.
I made it to 45 mins when they started talking about video game awards and you nkow what it is? The editing is garbage. Why doesnt the editor remove the nuisance of conversation? Not every word out your mouth is content.
I've yet to find a reason to like a Kojima game, never liked their stories, gameplay, and at this point he just enjoys the smell of his own crap too much.
