Mustaine + Friedman = thrash royalty duo. I remember my 1st Megadeth concert in 1996 or 97 in Phoenix, and watching Dave and Marty stand back-to-back for the final outro solo of this song, playing in sync. People suddenly stopped moshing, and just staired at these guys, jaws on the floor. It was an epic moment for us fans. It was iconic, and that image is forever tat'd into my brain. Get better, Dangerous Dave. We're all pulling for ya.
People today who think Dave isnt good singer definetely born in 2010. Dave used to be great vocalist before he lost his voice after around 2007-2008. I found it odd that MTV banned video for A tout le monde because they think it has suicidal lyric... yet the band performed this song live on MTV more than once.
Agreed, I thought that was odd. I guess it was because it was a single, and it would of had more TV time and viewings. Still a dick move from MTV if you ask me.
@@idontlikeapplejuice7 bro, I guess everyone, even Megadeth fans agree that James is a better singer. Still, we like Mustaine's vocals just the way they are. It may be not the more beautiful one but it's the only one to fit in Megadeth, and it does fit very well
@@idontlikeapplejuice7 His voice was only good on Kill 'em all then his voice became generic and boring sounding - just like the band. Thrash metal isn't supposed to have pop sounding vocals. Dave's voice fits the genre way better IMO.
Megadeth is and forever will be a national treasure. I'm blessed to be born in The Megadeth Era. And for fucks sake Im 51 and after all these years still find more reasons to appreciate the epic talent that is Megadeth. Much Respect from S.Jersey!
@@AC-cj9zl I'm talking about his intro speech, where he's talking about him, having had the plan to kill himself with valium in the past and that a lot of guys from other bands would want him to succeed at that in order to "ascend to their level of magnitude" or whatever non-sense. Not my definition of humility...
Don't remember where I was I realized life was a game The more seriously I took things The harder the rules became I had no idea what it'd cost My life passed before my eyes When I found out how little I accomplished All my plans denied So as you read this know my friends I'd love to stay with you all Please smile when you think of me My body's gone that's all À tout le monde [To all the world] À tout mes amis [To all my friends] Je vous aime [I love you] Je dois partir [I have to leave] These are the last words I'll ever speak And they'll set me free If my heart was still alive I know it would surely break And my memories left with you There's nothing more to say Moving on is a simple thing What it leaves behind is hard You know the sleeping feel no more pain And the living are scarred À tout le monde [To all the world] À tout mes amis [To all my friends] Je vous aime [I love you] Je dois partir [I have to leave] These are the last words I'll ever speak And they'll set me free So as you read this know my friends I'd love to stay with you all Please smile, smile when you think about me My body's gone that's all [2x] À tout le monde [To all the world] À tout mes amis [To all my friends] Je vous aime [I love you] Je dois partir [I have to leave] These are the last words I'll ever speak And they'll set me free
A tout le monde means “to everyone” not “to all the world” it would be capital M otherwise and it would be weird in french. We would rather say “au monde entier” in that instance.
I fully understand the French in the chorus, & the fact that Dave said, "If you know French then you know what I'm saying" stroked my already huge ego 😂 P.S. Great performance of an amazing song! Thanks for sharing!
Bash Megadeth's pop-metal era all you want, but some of their best songs were released in it. "A Toute Le Monde" & "Trust" are my favorite Megadeth songs. Melodic, intricate, beautiful & meaningful. What more could you possibly want from a song?
THIS is Megadeth. Menza was a beast of a drummer; the John Bonham of thrash. Quel groupe! Tout des super vedettes. Only Dave Mustaine could actually make French sound metal.
A Tout le Monde (To all the world)-(A todo el mundo) A tout mes amis (To all my friends)-(A todos mis amigos) Je vous aime (I love you)- (Yo los quiero) Je dois partir (I must leave)-(Me tengo que ir)
They came to my town with this line up in 1998 when was in 12th grade with no car and my friend was a bitch with the car who wouldn’t go to see megadeth. He told me After megadeth came and went, he was like if megadeth comes back I’m gonna see them. SMH 🤦♂️ I told myself, there ain’t a next time.
In Dave's book he claims that this is a setlist goof, and how a tout le monde became labeled as a suicide song, but i don't understand how that happened, it was supposed to be "skin of my teeth", couldn't he have just announced it as "skin of my teeth"?
I thought that too! I watched this the night it aired and then when I read his book I called bullshit! Plus if it was supposed to be as he claims in the book that it was for skin o my teeth then his set up is still wrong because '93 was two years after symphony came out
this is why Megadeth is so much bigger than Metallica, they can have all their fake with their poprock....but playing this flawless on stage/live sounding like studio quality.....only megadeth does this because of dedication to their work and fans...🤘🤘 Metallica was my first time listening to harder metal than what i was used to, in 91 with the black album, i was sold, and got more hooked with the previous albums, but then in 92 I got an album with these guys and i practically stopped listening to Metallica due to poor songs and melodic content, James forgetting whole versus, lars outburned on drums, couldn't keep up, double bass drum was gone... but these guys just kept on going....❤
