Everyone always hates on Dave's voice/singing...but it's one of the most unique voices of metal. These songs wouldn't hit the same with someone else singing
Back these days his voice was at its prime. Now that he survived cancer it sounds more rough. Fits to their newer songs. His voice is absolutly phenomenal in any way
@@Keeleean Agreed. His modern deep gritty sound, and band tuning down, really helped him adjust after those rough years when he struggled with singing. Supposedly the metal plate he had put in during neck surgery presses up against his vocal chords.. Said he doesnt feel his voice resonating when singing ever since. Yet he didn't give up
So true.....cannot deny the talent within Dave. People can criticize all day about his vocals. Bur all day every day Mr. Mustaine is my personal favorite and has earned extreme respect in the Metal world. Writing composing singing while playing having a pretty unique sound and also finding great musicians to play with him. A very true legend passed and for years to come
I love the instrumental aspect of megadeth but for some reason i really dont like daves’ voice hence i was never a fan.. to each his own i guess.. awesome guitar player nonetheless
this was the only time ive seen megadeth live and itll never be topped, the goosebumps i got from watching this and reliving the craziness from that night
seen Megadeth in 93 think he sounded better then not that he sounds bad here. Hell everytime ive seen Megadeth Dave sounded Pretty damn good. Seen them twice in 93 once inside with STP the second time outside with Pantera and White Zombie. Seen them again in 2017 sounded great then too. Had planned to go last yr to Megadeth and Lamb of God but unfortunately did not get to.
Playing and singing is only seemingly difficult to total newcomers. Anybody who has put in the time and got the muscle memory can easily sing and play at the same time.
Yup. I dislike a lot of things about Mustaine, but I always respected A LOT how he's always bringing stuff and ideas all the time. And the guy is 60. I'm 35 and I always ave to look for motivation videos and stuff haha.
You really need to see Rude Awakening. Damn good lineup and damn good performance. Same lineup as here except they had Al Pitrelli on guitar. You should definitely check out the performance of She Wolf on that album
@Robert Parker si lo he visto. I saw it too, and by the way i hace it, but i like the woodstock performance cause it is to me the best Line up of megadeth
Dave is always critically staring at his lead guitarists. Part of it is him being the dictator of the band, and the other part probably comes from him having started as a lead guitarist.
he had his voice on point during the 90s-2001 and until like 2004-08 he started to sound different. than he sounded like shit 2010-12 was barely able to sing because of his neck problems and surgery. 2013-16 he started to gain his vocals back but in more raspy and matured tone.

Tornado is probably one of the best Songs in Metal History and my all time Favourite Song in the world. To me Tornado is for Megadeth what November Rain is for GnR or stairway is for Zepelin
Let's be honest, both Megadeth and Metallica decided to stop going for the pure metal image in the 90's. They kind of mirrored each other for a long time, obviously probably isn't a coincidence considering the backstory. Metallica may have been more successful but Megadeth was always my preference, especially the Chris Poland and Marty Friedman era albums. Mustaine was just so damn driven after getting fired from Metallica and you could always hear that. It's kind of admirable.
I've loved both Metallica and Megadeath since the mid-'80s. I respect the shit out of Dave for creating his own thing and hammering away past all the struggles and battles. Megadeath is pure metal whereas Metallica lost their way for a while after the Black album, and only in recent years reconnected with it to a certain degree, and while I still love them the Metallica I loved died after And Justice for All, meanwhile Megadeath continues to kick in your teeth.
Saludos!
Megadeth just killed it. I feel so bad that marty friedman left the band. Most of his solos were just killers. As I watched the crowd, I just realised how noob they are about Megadeth but kudos to them for turning up to have such a great time ! You will never find a crowd like this ever nowadays.
Man to think i was there with my Girl Rumina.. i just remembered vividly as if happened not that long ago and Megadeth was one of the main reasons of why i wanted to be there you all had to be in there to know how burning great their sound was that Night much love Mustaine you handsome badass Belmont 🤘
I’m not really a megadeath guy but I have grown to respect Dave and what they’ve done SO much! Truly an inspiration. And he’s never let the metal gods down!
What a great set! One thing about Megadeth, Dave makes sure the band is tight night in and day out but this is spectacular! Prayers out to the Mustaine family stay strong Dave!
unfortunately he can't hit high notes anymore - at all. i've been to his concert in tampa and he couldn't sing tornado of souls chorus. but he's a great musician
This band... Man, they are just friggin' PROs when it comes to the music. The name Megadeth, as much as I LOVE the band, has held them back over the years. I don't claim to know of a better name, but imagine if they switched names with metallica: NO one would go see James, Lars, Kirk, and Robert of "MEGADETH". NO ONE... I've never heard this discussion. Any thoughts??
+Clayton Mallinson So basically you are saying you are a loser strictly because your name is Clayton? Sit down and study my metalhead friend. Megadeth is an amazing band, easily a top 10, maybe 5 in metal history. Unfortunately for the sake of your argument, Metallica is number one. Period (look up Ozzy interviews regarding how he couldn't follow Metallica after the Puppets album, when he played for half empty arenas who left after Metallica's set) Not because of their name, but because of their accomplishments. Their music, Their talent. They are far better than Megadeth, and that isn't and insult by any means to Dave and the boys. Before you comeback with a well thought out disagreement, try enjoying the music, INSTEAD OF PINNING THE TWO AGAINST EACH OTHER LIKE AN ASSHOLE, EH? And the fact you say IT'S THE NAME OF "METALLICA" THAT GOT SUCCESS? Stop smoking so much weed and grasp on to a clear mind one of these days.
+Clayton Mallinson And for you saying if they "switched" names no one would see these random "James, Lars, Kirk, Robert" guys who sell out EVERYWHERE they go, HUGE VENUES ALL OVER THE WORLD. Megadeth can BARELY put a decent tour together. Do you dream every night that Dave Mustaine got the rights to the Metallica name or something? You seem to have some problems going on. Enjoy both artists for what they have to offer. Megadeth will never be Metallica....not because they are named differently...but because that's just how history played out. I think you shoul go try this new thing called Vagina. THen maybe you wouldn't sit in a fairy tale world where Dave Mustaine was the lead singer of Metallica. It's 2015, give it the fuck up child.
+Clayton Mallinson I dont understand what you mean by swapping names with Metallica. But, the name Megadeth did hold them when they produced Risk, Cryptic Writings. Those albums were targeted for the mainstream, but didn't sell well. The thing is the targeted audience, wouldn't expect a band called Megadeth, a well-known metal band, to create music they would like. The fault of the publishers really. Thats why you hear stuff like Dave wanted those albums published as his solo albums, to separate those albums from label Megadeth.
+Anthony Noneya I really love both bands, really! And I think the fame of Metallica is because of they more commercial music, more soft and smooth... And Megadeth is more pure thrash, when I started playing guitar and seeing music different I begun to enjoy more Megadeth music than Metallica's... Just saying, I have no problem with anyone 🤘🏻
It's was a tug of war between Metallica and Megadeth for me in the late 80's, UNTIL "Rust in Peace" then became a full-fledged Megadeth fan. This was by far the best lineup of ALL TIME!
Quite a bit of his hair was around two inches -- that counts as short by his standards :) They didn't go quite as bad as Metallica in their Load days but 94-95 was the time Dave cut his hair like this, started wearing proper shoes and trousers, Pringle sweaters etc. That stage didn't last long though, fortunately!
I'm surprised that nobody really mentions Megadeth when talking about Woodstock 99. Sure, RHCP's set ended with a riot, but Megadeth played THROUGH the riot. Straight up one of the most thrash metal things I've ever seen. 🔥
I was there and I remember some guys I was hanging with who decided they were going to see Megadeth, in fact one of the performances they looked forward to the most when committing to go. I chose RHCP instead because my brother and I had already seen them at Woodstock '94 when they wore the giant light bulb costumes. We wanted to see what else they'd pull off. Plus, Megadeth was in their relatively radio-friendly era. So then of course I had a front row to the fires and riot, which started 20 ft from where I was standing. I often think about whether or not I chose the better option. Honestly, I know I'd've felt I really missed out on history if I had to hear stories about how the fires and rioting started, while instead having to listen to She Wolf or Use the Man, songs that fell off setlists forever more. I have the photos and the memory of that crazy, crazy night and I'm grateful I saw such mayhem.

@@adipratama7448 Yep brother. Personally, Marty is my inspiration as a guitar player, love him. And I respect an artist who does what he really means to express with his instrument. But I would really loved if they played toghether again even one only time! The perfect duet
