A protest song. I ask you to consider the lyrics and think of how it might apply to today.
The P.M.R.C. was the enemy of free speech when I was a teenager. The head of it was Al Gore's wife, Tipper. The left always have been the puritanical nazi control freaks, but the left scoffs at this when you point it out and tries to gaslight or cover it up. RU-vid (google), Twitter, Amazon, Facebook, Spotify, "fact-checkers", wikipedia, reddit - You're all guilty. All of you.
This is a time of choosing. Get pissed and get political or choices will be made for you.
In the case of the inevitable, follow me on BitChute and/or Rumble.

This song is about the PMRC (Parents Music Resource Center), which was an American committee formed in 1985 with the stated goal of increasing parental control over the access of children to music deemed to have violent, drug-related or sexual themes via labeling albums with Parental Advisory stickers. The committee was founded by four women known as the "Washington Wives"-a reference to their husbands' connections with government in the Washington, D.C. area. The women who founded the PMRC are Tipper Gore, wife of Senator and later Vice President Al Gore; Susan Baker, wife of Treasury Secretary James Baker; Pam Howar, wife of Washington realtor Raymond Howar; and Sally Nevius, wife of former Washington City Council Chairman John Nevius. The PMRC eventually grew to include 22 participants before shutting down in the mid-to-late 1990s. Dave explains this very cleary in the chorus: F is for Fighting (Fight for your country) R is for Red (The blood that's shed) E we elect them (The politicians) E we eject them (also the Politicians) D for Dying (Die for your country) O your overture (The music they will play at your funeral once you've been killed at war) M they will cover your grave with manure (Your death means shit to them) This spells out FREEDOM, it means nothing to me, as long as there's a PMRC. Basically, you fight for your country, you fight for your freedom and you die for it, but in the end, they (politicians) try to restrict the freedom of speech. Hence, freedom will never exist as long as the PMRC keeps working.
@YeOldeThrashDude
@YeOldeThrashDude 2 года назад
Yep. The problem is it continues to this day under "acceptable speech", or "anti-hate-speech" laws and regulations. Or corporations that are called private, (but are on the stock exchange opening their ownership to the public and take government welfare at the same time with members giving to political parties (mostly one that starts with a D) and being selected for advisory and cabinet positions), that take it upon themselves to censor you for your thought crimes. Words are not violence. Violence is violence. People have got to toughen that mental callous or they will remain victims of their own weakness.

@@YeOldeThrashDude What they don't understand is that the people of today is not the same people from 30 years ago. Minds have changed, unless you're a strict religious person who even takes the word fart as a devil's work too. Let people be free and make their own decisions as long as it does not affect others in a negative and harmful way.

Thanks! If I remember right, I was using a setting that got close to a Diezel Herbert on my Eleven Rack. Most of the tight tone was from the Tonerider AC4 pickups. Tight as a drum and sharp as a tack, not too much gain.

good job!! listening to this song since '87 (in france mostly) and never knwe what P.M.R.C was, thanks for the explanation- geez that makes the all thing much more clear. Dave Mustaine nailed it, as usual, way up ahead of his time. Genius album and song ! i mean, where can you find this kind of spitting raw wild energy and intense songs now? those were the days..
@YeOldeThrashDude
@YeOldeThrashDude 2 года назад
You're right about that. Thrash in the 80s(and later to some extent, death metal) spoke a lot of truth unhypocritically, guiding a bunch of us to observe, read, and think for ourselves. I don't know of a modern group who does it like they did. I mean, Gojira talks about pollution and other social topics, but they appear to think government is the solution and not the root of the problem, which they are. Thanks for your comment! Have an awesome day!

@@YeOldeThrashDude interesting point on Gojira, not sure about their real political statements though, but for sure they are a little bit supra clean to my taste, as a reaction to those bands destroyed by heroin, but hey..without that we wouldn't have Megadeth's LIAR (still my fav masterpiece from them + hook in mouth..) ;)) so it's a bit of a trap to be that straight edge and obsessively clean. Where does starts slavery... keep up the great job !!

Ah so more like the TU-16 then. I swear aviation borrows designs all the time. Look up the similarity between the North American NA335 and the prototype for the SU-27. In plan form, you can tell where the soviets got their idea. Wise though. The planes you spot one day may save lives or take them. Good to know the difference.

You must have grown up after the 80s, right? These were serious concerns at the time, but are only really coming true over the last few years. Why? Not enough people listened to the warnings... like Dave's here.

Where can I find the tabs for the rythm under the solos for this song?
@YeOldeThrashDude
@YeOldeThrashDude 3 года назад
I don't want to mislead you at all so I'm going to tell you how it is. I don't use tabs when I figure out a song. I just use my ears. so I used my ears to figure out what goes on underneath the solos. I cannot strongly recommend this enough. It'll make you so much a better player if you start figuring things out like that. There are also other tricks to it. don't listen to things at full speed. Get yourself a DAW, even something free like audacity and slow the song down. People used to do that with weights on record players to figure out licks. This is the modern variant. Maybe I should make a video about it and pin the comment.
