"Whats crazy about Mustaine is that I'd just see him ripping solos while looking off into the distance somewhere, that's something I couldnt do" - Kerry King
1:14 if he sounded like that his entire career, he would go down as one of the greatest metal singers. This era Mustaine is my favorite voice in metal.
XxShenLonGxX It sucks. His voice in this even with the alright quality blew me away. Sounds better than the studio version which was never the case with 90s Dave. I wish he kept this power in his voice
Dave was the best vocalist in metal during his prime. Perfect for Megadeth in every way. Good mourning Black Friday or Looking Down The Cross are great examples \m/
This is one of the greatest underrated thrash songs ever recorded,. The solo the speed the voice the lyrics it's insane !!! .... Things would have been different if this is from Metallica...
Indeed, but I wonder if the band is accountable for this for not keeping it at the repertory 🤔 Some reviews from peace sells when it was released had stated that this song alone was already worth the album
It's such a shame that nowadays we have tons of high quality Megadeth live shows online, but don't have just about any decent quality footage from these good old days. Amazing performance from the whole band, and Mustaine is such a beast here!
It really sucks that nowadays Megadeth has to tour constantly for income. They do so many shows that after the first week, Dave's voice gets shot and he sounds like he's dying. Because they play that many shows. Back then he was so young, high as fuck on coke and heroin, and yet a GOD OF THRASH. The music has energy that gives life, His voice sounds angry and powerful, it's like it's the sound of the emotion to fight the world. His solo is GODLY. We will never get this again, because we will Never have another Dave Mustaine. At least they still make the best Studio albums. But man... I'll be sad when he dies. He gave birth to the band that made the music that harnessed the will to rebel against defeat, to understand your own demons, and to Survive through itall. Thank you Dave Mustaine, for making the best metal there ever was, and ever will be.
@@anish3183 Kirk can do more lead wise but to be honest he sounds just like everyone else in the 80s. Dave is a one trick pony but no one else sounds like him ( Kerry try’s )
@@grahfkarate1799 Actually, I have the reverse opinion. Dave sounds like he's stuck in thrash mode of peace Sells/RIP while Kirk sounds like he's actually progressed since the 80s. Not by much, but he's got his 90s, 2000s, mixed with his 80s style. Not saying I don't like Dave's style, but still.
@@anish3183 I was thinking of 80s for both. Dave has more of a unique style while Kirk is more versatile. Can you imagine Dave playing Fade to Black? 😂. , but Dave is FAR better at Rhythm and song writing
Most people think that the real Megadeth is the line-up with Friedman and Menza and I used to think it also but after reading the book of Dave Mustaine I think that THIS is the REAL MEGADETH !! I love this song !
Everytime I watch this I shake, this song is epic, quite epic that should be more known. So great writen, take a listen to the original and will feel the strength it gets till the solo, where your head will explode. You can feel how badass and raw is Mustaine. Such an inspiration for all the upcoming bands like mine. Hands down.
I was at this show. I drove from Minneapolis to Detroit and then right back, because I was 17 so.... no problem! Amazing show. Still my favorite song of theirs.
This is what I'm talking about with Dave, not only the solo but the riffs as well. People can talk about technical shit all they want, I'm just in it for the PURE FURY of it. Guarantee Kirk can't pull off that solo, still have my Peace Sell concert shirt, it's in the retired shrine part of my collection.
What a treat we would have had if Gar was still here..........Heavily influenced by Rich and Porcaro he once addressed.......Never had a chance to see his potential
This song has killer riffs and an a killer solo .one of my favorite Megadeth songs .I have favorites from each albums but the first 4 albums love all of them
They have a Megadeth gig in Detroit during the 80s that is the BEST quality i've seen in any video of this time. It isn't this exact video but if you find it you'll know. It's live in detroit but it is earlier than '87.
+ESP500 no doubt. its unfortunate we barely get to see Gar in Megadeth, the only time ive even heard him talk was in a band interview and all he said was his name. No drum footage, (expect a little in the Peace Sells music video) no interviews or anything. Unless you were lucky enough to have attended some of Megadeth's shows with this particular line up, it blows.
This is also the show (according to interviews) that Gar's drum tech was M.I.A. so Chuck Behler set up the kit and was immediatly hired as Gar's new drum tech setting the stage for So Far So Good So What.
"Sometimes it showed up and when it did the shows were really great and when it wouldn't the shows really sucked" David Ellefson.Well it sure as hell yurned up that night.
Chris Vejar *B.C. Rich Bich Perfect 10*. It’s a ten string but with the 4 octave strings cut, allowing it to play like a normal 6 string. Custom black paint job by the man Dave himself.
@chaviscolotico you know their releasing a Peace Sells But Who's Buying 25th Anniversary box set right? it comes with 3 LPs and 5Discs. Comes with remastered album and live tracks. It comes out in July, 12 and i can't wait Peace Sells is my favorite Megadeth album.
@codebabe funny you should mention that, because I've always loved David's playing but it wasn't until watching the Metal Masters clinic online that really made me want to pick up a bass, him and Frankie Bello. and then David did a guitar clinic with Chris Broderick to promote Jackson guitars and I just made up my mind haha. so it was haring stuff from this, rust in peace and killing is my business that led me to start bass
Hey is this at Harpos.I have the Blondies gig .But dont think Ive ever seen this. This has to be right at the end ov the best and classic lineup.Poor Gar, wat a sad story.
The trick is to position your fingers in the correct way. Normally your fingers are pointed upwards, but when you play that part you have to position them so that they are pointing towards you, like some sort of diagonal shape. For the speed, it's just like everything else, practice slow, use alternate picking.
Oh god.. Last night's drunkness (if that's even a word) really started to kick in there.. My bad : ) But if I'm not mistaken, Dave played BC rich perfect 10's in early-megadeth
