Ya his vocals on UA and Endgame are awesome. I especially love his style in Head Crusher, his chaotic sneering sarcastic vocals fit their music so well
Megadeth's riffs are way more complicated and impressive than Metallica's... The fact that Dave can sing while playing these riffs just proves he's one of the best/most talented musicians ever.
Lmaoo always have to mention Metallica. Maybe more complicated. But as memorable nope. Even people who don’t like Metal have always lovedOne, Enter Sandman..There’s more of course, oh and dave didn’t write those songs 😂😂
David is simply part of Megadeth DNA but Lomenzo without a doubt was the best replacement they could ever had. I dont like Shawn Drover live performance but Glenn and James are top notch.
The last time his vocal sounded good without overdubs was during UA tour 2007-2008. He started to struggle during RIP anniversary tour, he had neck surgery and recently throat cancer, so that's certainly had impact on his vocal without a doubt.
You know what I love about Megadeth... Every single lead guitarist they've ever had has their own unique sound. United Abominations has the Drover sound, Endgame has the Broderick Sound. Obviously Rust in Peace and Countdown have the Friedman sound. And of course, my music has the B-Dix sound!
He's the only drummer in Megadeth history to skip the triplets on holy wars. He replaces his own double bass fills with the toms. He's lazy as fuck. Also compared to every other Megadeth drummer all in all, he's nothing special.
Yep, even though Blood in the water was clearly overdubbed, watching other live performance from 2007 like this one and Download festival, Dave clearly could still sing very well at the time. He started to suck in 2009, around the time he started to have neck problem. Surgery made him able to headbang again but his voice never return. When the neck problem started around that time , he looks in pain everytime he try to reach the high notes.
I think the neck surgery really made it a lot harder for him to sing. Right now, compared to back then, it seems as if he''s straining himself more when he sings.. They've probably only got 1 or 2 albums left in them before Dave has to call it quits. He's got arthritis too, so playing guitar (especially lead parts) is getting more painful & difficult for him. It was a good run nonetheless!
@@Nghilifa It was an amazing run. I'm glad I had a chance to see them live this summer, and Daves singing was decent, too. Can't wait for the new album
Bro, you must be blind or on something really strong. Glen is playing here a *Dean Vendetta 4.0F* in "Transparent Black". Great super-strat 🎸. @@prankstereddy
i really like Glen Drover. i met Shawn inside the casino after the show and chatted with him a bit about he and his brother’s playing. Very good players.
As far as I am concerned MegaDave has NUKED the Metallica/Megadeth argument rendering it completely irrelevant. Don't misunderstand me, I never took part in that argument back in the day because both were equally important to my musical arsenal. But not only Does Megadeth continue to put out kick ass heavy metal but they're classic material is still as exciting to listen to as it was when it first came out. I can't remember the last time I intentionally listened to a Metallica song. I take that back I did add Frayed Ends of Sanity to the mix last month.
@@robertparker481 for the life of me, i'll NEVER understand people's dislike of "cryptic"...it's fukkn awesome. they laid back with "youth" but re-introduced the fast songs on crypt. "disintegraters", she-wolf, vortex, & FFF were fast & bad-ass as fukk. I do admit "risk" should have been a solo project or some kind of E.P. of sorts like "garage".....but even then, you listen to it enough & it grows on ya.
@megamuerte13 Yeah at the time Line 6 was doing the modeling for Marshall And Mustaines bud had a Awesome Vintage Marshall stack and He asked to use it for recording United abominations but the Guy said that he wanted the Marshall stack at his house when he got off work so Mustaine just took the stack to line 6 and they Made a copy Tube head for Dave then just took the Marshall back to his friends house and used the Line 6 then had a few more heads made for a tour
lol... the comment out there saying that Megadeth has only 3 good albums, it's like saying Tears Don't Fall is the only good music of Bullet for My Valentine ... SOOOO poser
@tunellord20 Ok then...Tell me what you think about all Megadeth Original albums..No compilations, no Live cds or dvds, You can tell me about the re-masters
2000s is rough decade for Dave M. Losing Marty, arms problem, disband, dispute with Junior, 2x divorce filing, pressure from labels. Only because he is Dave Mustaine, he can get thru these all and still thrashing until now.
@rockonabc1 St. Anger beign the reason for nu metal? Nu metal existed 5 years before St. Anger, please get your facts straigth, St. Anger also isn't nu metal, it's newer metal, but not nu metal. Load and Reload is Hard Rock, not Blues. Please, get a hold of your genres before posting such an ignorant comment. Also, Mustaine still is to blame the most for Risk, sure Lars SUGGESTED it, but he never said it should be pop rock, it was Dave's choice.
Recording the entire album with that crappy Line 6 amps that supposedly 'simulated' Marshall amps was the thing that stopped songs like Sleepwalker, Washington Is Next, Burnt Ice and United Abominations from being turned into classics.
@@Ducktapejesus UA sounds ok, Endgame is better but TSHF just sounded so bad and muddy. Songs like Kick the chair, Blackmail the universe and Back in the day could have been classic with much better production. The snare sound on Kick the chair in particular, sounds similar to the cymbal.
@rockonabc1 Dude, st anger was 2003, nu metal and bands as gay as slipknot (which as im sure you know are the biggest gay nu metal band) have been around since like 1997, it all took off in like 2001, not when st anger came out, i think they tuned to c because it gives a more aggresive sound, not because of nu metal shit. iI agree lars drumset sounds like shit and the snare is BAD, i think megadeth had a few shit albums, as i said in the last comment, but one things for sure theyre awesome now
Megadeth's albums are better now but their live shows are boring (most comercially successful songs) and Dave Mustaine's voice is a joke now. I hope he improves soon as Graspop 2012 was atrocious.
Oh go fuck yourself dude! You WISH you had an 1/8th the talent Dave does! So with that being said, you are cordially invited to sample the goodness that is my delightful ass!
