Got Wood Shadow Style right after the Plantman scenario. Flameman can't be damaged while the candles are green. Otherwise he's pretty straightforward. Immediately after Bass challenges Megaman to battle.
I actually used a cheat where I was able to delete all the opponents' HP simply by pressing the select button which worked out, but then I thought "would this actually kill the legendary scripted boss fight against Bass?" when it came to Bass, it was funny, cus his HP disappeared, but nothing happened... The fight simply continued on as if Bass had full health. Not even cheats can get around the scripted boss battle u were designed to lose in. 😅
Kinda reminds me of Yu-Gi-Oh forbidden memories where if you beat 1st encounter Henshin he just calls it a fluke and the story cannot continue unless you lose lol. What a ripoff.
@@MiguelRPD Well at least you can beat that character. In the scripted fight against Bass, it's impossible to win, no matter what you do. I did also try removing his barrier, but you can't do that even with the wind chip, it'll blow, but the barrier will remain on Bass.
Hmm odd, maybe I'm remembering wrong but I know I used Save States via emulator to dodge all his shots and make sure all my chips hit and after beating him there was a cutscene where he just charges an attack that you can't dodge because it's a cutscene so he kills you anyway. Maybe I'm remembering wrong but I could swear it was like that....
I actually disliked the fact that they made Bass invincible in this fight. There's no way to beat him, even if you have chips that would normally trump aura users. Even if you use cheats, you still can't win. It's a really cheap way of showing the player that Bass is supposed to be super strong. A better way to do it would have been to make Bass stronger than what the player could realistically handle but allow the player to defeat Bass if they were capable, with a different cutscene afterwards.
I think the biggest insult here is I struggled greatly with Flameman on and off for a few months before finally beating him and Forte just rolls up in here and one shots him and then beats you right after.
I actually really disliked this part of the game. The game railroads you into doing Match's dirty work and throws a battle at you that's deliberately scripted to be completely unwinnable right on the heels of the Flame Man fight, which can be tough on its own. I was pretty frustrated at this point, thinking that maybe if I had made better decisions or played better then maybe I could have gotten a better outcome. Nope, it's just the game devs being dicks.
