+James yeah, that's why I only practice against PCs. I only take it online if I can ABSOLUTELY master the technique. ...I still haven't mastered the glide toss combo....
Thumbs up for the simple fact that you explained the JUMP CANCEL GLIDE TOSS in this video, instead of just being like "go watch my other damn tutorial on it".
+MySmashCorner there's actually a setup where instead of waiting for the opponent to get up and then do another footstool, you can actually do a short hop --> late Z-drop metal blade as they get up (make sure you land). Then jump + grab metal blade on an instant short hop --> footstool combo.
Didn't know the glide toss set up. Thanks for finding that!. You can also glide toss down, pick up the blade, and glide toss forward into a back air at kill percents
I'd like to point out that Kamemushi did the combo out of shield. He utilized a shield jump footstool, which I think would be an interesting episode if you find enough to talk about at least. I think it does have a good amount of value if you're good at using it effectively. Anyways, great video as usual, cool to see Megaman tech.
Don't worry he is a fun character to play. I've been pocketing him since the Demo. And I knew about this combo LONG LONG ago then seeing Kamemushi do it at EVO helped me with my Mega Man. Really fun character and this combo is super easy.
@MySmashCorner just to note, you can footstool Shulk and the other characters in that group if your back is facing towards the direction their facing. So basically you have to RAR footstool. And vice versa for the other group. GREAT video nonetheless though. Please keep up the content.
Thank you so much for this video. As an aspiring megaman main this has helped me so much. I have been doing pretty well with him recently and can do the combo efficiently in training mode, but now knowing that the phantom footstool is a thing helps immensely. Also the knowledge that some char need to be at higher percents to hit the lemons. Can't wait to keep practicing and hopefully become another one of the megaman hidden bosses! Many thanks for this video
Jesus christ. Shit like this is why competitive Smash is forever beyond my ability. Even if you master the extremely tight timings, you need to have the dexterity of an octopus to do this on the controller. So I guess this makes Megaman go up a few tiers?
This has been known since shortly after the game came out. If it were a big deal, this video would've been made over a year ago and it would probably be nerfed by now. The randomness of the blade disappearing, the amount of characters it doesn't work on, how situational it is to set up, and the difficulty of execution makes this combo only "pretty decent" at best. It doesn't change the game.
It only doesn't work on one character, it can kill some characters at 50-60%, Scatt's stated it can actually be an infinite, it is very easy to perform even in tournament as shown by kamenmushi and in the video itself, this setup does change the game. Not as much as other things, but still a lot for MM's MUs.
It's kind of a shame that people used to say "Mega Man sucks, he's low tier" or "Mega Man is too hard to use." FINALLY we Mega Mains can feel good knowing that his abilities shine through!
You can't repeat the combo guaranteed with a footstool. When the opponent is forced to do a neutral get-up you get a phantom footstool. (Technically it's guaranteed if you footstool the exact frame after regular get-up ends AND you have PORT PRIORITY) To repeat the combo use the jump cancelled d-tossed metal blade into combo set-up or the optimal z-drop metalblade > short hop > z-catch > footstool > z-drop. The optimal version the metal blade doesnt touch the ground therefore less chance to disappear.
In these videos, you should show whatever combo, trick, or exploit in use on For Glory, just to give people a general idea of how people online might react to it and what to expect.
I'd just like to add that now kameme uses short up up air to full hop up air after jab lock if he knows the up tilt will not KO. it adds more % damage and allows you to pressure there landing.
Appreciate the vid as always S.Corner, especially as a megaman main, but the true problem for me currently instead of the "Kame-Combo" is the Super Glide toss, both forwards and upwards slightly(upwards in terms of consistency, Forwards in general) if you could explain the timing of this that would be excellent +My Smash Corner
+Zain Ice ALSO, I know that the C stick is said to be set to smash, but with the AB smash button would it be possible to do it upwards as well as you are forwards, and because I know a couple frens that had to sacrifice their Tilt stick an re do their play style completely , while I would like to avoid that because I don't just play megaman owo, Ty smash corner
Jonathan Parnes Just pressure the fuck out of the Rosa, it's honestly not a hard MU. The only annoying thing about that MU is that Rosa can get like 60% off of uair strings which is fucking ass.
You can kinda do this with leaf shield if you're playing against skinny characters (like palutena and roy for example) at very low percents. make all 4 of the leaves connect and then up-tilt or however you wanna finish it. just a piece of advice for you c:
I think this combo/infinite has been out for a few months to a year know. Beatfox, a Mexican Player famous for his Pac-Man, did this combo in his Mega Man vid, and that video has been out for a very long time
When I was playing kirby I did a very similar combo when I absorbed megaman's power. The only difference was after I did the second footstool I immediately press down-b to get a strong hit at the end, other than that it was not as exciting or powerful as megaman's footstool blade combo.
+AnthonyS BlackStarKeepShining you idiot. Its called a metagame. Melee never had patches or anything yet tier lists always change. Why is that? Oh yeah, people realize what a characters potential is. And thats whats happening to mega man. Fucktard.
