This morning, one of my pupils, young Megan, decided that she needed to improve her planning and also wanted to improve the use of the clutch. I thought it would be a useful video for those preparing for Part 3 and those on a trainee licence.
It is a full lesson demonstrating a lesson where the pupil fully engages in the learning process. Megan identifies the areas she needs to improve, prioritising the most important to her. For reference, bear in mind that up to the point where we are about to move off. The conversation that sets the goals discusses the route and recaps the problem areas in Part 3 would take place before meeting the examiner. Remember they want to see the car moving for forty minutes.
Consider the use made of open questions and listening, which is so important to deliver a client-centred lesson.
Who chose the training area?
Has learning taken place?
How much responsibility did Megan take?
How did I manage the risk on the move?
