*Lyrics: Megan Moroney - Tennessee Orange* [Verse 1] Mama, I'm callin', I've got some news Don't ya tell daddy, he'll blow a fuse Don't worry, I'm doin' okay I know you raised me to know right from wrong It ain't what you think and I'm still writin' songs Just never thought I'd see the day I've never felt this way [Chorus] I met somebody and he's got blue eyes He opens the door and he don't make me cry He ain't from where we're from But he feels like home, yeah He's got me doin' things I've never done In Georgia, they call it a sin I'm wearing Tennessee orange for him [Verse 2] Took me to Knoxville last Saturday And I wore the hat on his dash to the game It sure wasn't Athens but I Fell for him under those Neyland lights [Chorus] I met somebody and he's got blue eyes He opens the door and he don't make me cry He ain't from where we're from But he feels like home, yeah He's got me doin' things I've never done In Georgia, they call it a sin I'm wearing Tennessee orange for him [Bridge] Mama, forgive me, I like him a lot Hell, I'm learning the words to Old Rocky Top And he's got a smile that makes me forget I've always looked better in red [Chorus] But I met somebody and he's got blue eyes He opens the door and he don't make me cry He ain't from where we're from But he feels like home, yeah He's got me doin' things I've never done I met somebody and he's got blue eyes He opens the door and he don't make me cry He ain't from where we're from But he feels like home, yeah He's got me doin' things I've never done In Georgia, they call it a sin And I still want the Dawgs to win But I'm wearing Tennessee orange for him I'm wearing Tennessee orange for him Songwriters: Ben Williams, David Fanning, Megan Moroney, and Paul Jenkins Producer: Kristian Bush
1 just heard this on the radio today for the first time. This is my new favorite favorite favorite song. I am a Philadelphia eagles fan and raise my four boys and grown-up girl to be the same. My girl however burned through a boyfriend by burning his Dallas Cowboys jacket. 1 guess he didn't hold the door and he made her cry!!!
I'm surprised anyone outside the US knows any of our states or the differences in them. We aren't a country in traditional sense. Our states are like little countries that make up a union. Tennessee is my home. Wouldn't trade it for the world but I wish we had a beach lol
She is absolutely phenomenal on concert! Lucky enough to be at her second ever headlining concert This was her last song and after we did the song she asked if we could all sing one more chorus all together and it was amazing Then there was an encore of course haha
I love this song, and I love that I’ve been able to make the lyrics about my home state and where I’m at now. I’ve met my amazing brown-eyes love of my life. And he is just like this sing
I wound up, by accident, seeing Megan Moroney at the New York State Fair. Never heard of her, never heard a note of her music. I was like dam, this girl has some songs. Nice that there is still some good country music coming out.
First of all… I’m not a country music fan. But when this song popped up on my you tube… because it said. Tennessee Orange… I had to watch it! I was born and raised in East Tennessee . I still live here. I am a Tennessee vol fan… til I die. No matter where I end up at. This is a beautiful song. ❤️
Omg. This is my daughter’s song. She’s in the Air Force and guess what she met a gentleman with blue eyes. Thank you beautiful song lots can relate to. ❤
Well. Now I can relate this song. I always wanted a good cowboy with blue eyes. Someone to treat me right and respect me. Finally. After years of searching... I found the one.
“I met somebody, he’s got green eyes. He opens the door and he don’t make me cry. “ I remember perfectly how my mothers face lit up when she first saw my now husband. “He ain’t from where we’re from, but he feels like home, yeah” Just never thought I’d see the day.
everytime i listen to this song i cant help but smile cuz this describes my bf and i live in florida and he lives in ohio!! i will never get tired of this song!!!💖💖
Buckeye here but lived in Atlanta so I get this song. The rivalries and the proximities distance wise, the traditions. I’ve been to both stadiums and watched games at both. Great song and surprisingly got me a little choked up. I get it, well done!!
I don’t even like country music but I LOVE this song so much. I heard it on the radio one day and being from Tennessee I immediately was a fan. The lyrics are so relatable and her voice is amazing.
My song. Ive listen to this song for so long hoping to find this boy and i found him. Blue eyes to feeling like home to wearing Tennessee colors for him❤
