she has such talent!!!! her voice really shocked me because after seeing will & grace, who knew she can sing so well. i've seen her sing country, opera, classic, jazz, all types and she deserves a grammy just because of that voice! who needs an album? lol
While this was filmed before her Broadway debut, she got her first tastes of fame on Broadway long before W&G (though I loved her on that too), so it wasn't a surprise for me. ;)
Yep. She's an excellent singer. She actually appeared on Broadway twice (I think it's twice) and has a few albums out. She sang several times on Will & Grace, as well. You should really check it out, she is a definite triple threat.
Actually, she appeared thrice. She was Marty in the '90's revival of "Grease!", Rosemary in the '90's revival of "H2$", and she originated the role of Elizabeth in "Young Frankenstein."
I love Mullally, as an actress and a singer, and this is a very good performance, as to be expected from her -- but it only goes to show how unique Joplin's voice was, and how the song is often crafted to fit the singer (and not the other way around).
