MEGAN REACTS - Doctor Who - The Eleventh Hour (Live Reaction) 

I think this episode might be considered the best of all the "New Doctor's First Episodes," in the modern era.

Series 5 begins! One of my personal favourite seasons of Modern Who, as well as one of my personal favourite episodes. Might be the best post-regeneration introduction to a Doctor yet.

Just rewatched Jon Pertwee's first episode, "Spearhead From Space" recently and suddenly I'm struck by the similarities with the New Who debut episodes: Nine fighting Autons; Ten spending most of the first episode in bed; Eleven stealing somebody's clothes from an English country hospital; Twelve spending half of his first story in a night-gown; Thirteen dealing with a strange spherical object which fell to earth from space! Coincidence?!!

"Strange man turns up on your front door to eat yoghurt"....just to make it even worrying, he turned up at the back door 😂

finally my doctor enters the stage.. unbelievable how much i loved him right away.. i hope you enjoy the seasons with him : oh and btw: there will be tears, so basically run! ;)

My heart melted a bit when I saw Megan's eyes light up as she saw the Tardis interior...

This was the first DW episode that I ever watched. It’s so nostalgic for me 😄

My favourite era starts with my favourite season opener, introducing my favourite Doctor AND favourite companion. The 11th Hour had a lot riding on it, and a lot to live up to, and Moffat + Smith made it look easy.

What a shock on a Wednesday, pleased Megan liked Matt Smith (really watching him again makes you wish he was back with Moffat) easier chill out days .

Just love seeing Megan happy during the reaction. :D I remember read an article where, Steven Moffat regretted not making Olivia Coleman, like, acting on a bigger role during his showrunning in Doctor Who, than just that one minor role. Cause he knows that she is a very brilliant actor.

It’s funny because I’ve always told people that Ten in my favorite doctor, but in the course of watching people’s series 5 reactions I have come to realize that Matt Smith might be my favorite. His era was when I became obsessed with Doctor Who and actually became invested. His run has some of my favorite episodes of all time and some great monsters. You’re in for a treat!

When the British see Rory, it’s “oh from boardchurch” when American see him it’s “ fuck, that’s Rip Hunter”

1:50 some of us do agree with her on the change being a positive one. That I always thought was the beauty of this show. we can all have our favorite thing and all be right.

Awww! I am so happy that Megan is enjoying the new series from the start. I personally think this is the best introduction of any New Who Doctor. And yes, that is part of why Eleven is my Doctor. I hope you two enjoy the wholesome fairytale style fifth series of New Who. (try watching the shorts, they are more or less important)

I love the theme music, Elliott be sure to let her watch the proms when it’s spoiler free, if that’s something she’s interested in. Very fun.

This was the first series of Doctor Who I watched, so everything about it has a special place in my heart. Including the arrangement of the theme music xD

My favourite season opener, and the start of my favourite era. I did love Ten and Rose but this just tops them, maybe, in my Tardis team list.

It's such an awesome story and debut for Matt Smith. It kicks off his era perfectly and every element seems to work perfectly. As others have said, following the Tennant era was a massive and daunting challenge. Smith, Moffat and everyone else involved made it look easy :)

I think it was a brilliant decision to do 5x4 and 5x5 before 5x1. So many characters to cover up the fact that it's Matt Smith's first time on the show in the two parter, and it lets him be fully in the role for the debut.

Series 5 felt magical, especially this episode. This was a fabulous episode

Fun fact: This is the first and only time that the Doctor gets to see what he looks like without using a mirror

This is the moment when you realise the TARDIS knows the Doctor. He needs to enjoy himself, to forget his past, to move on... so she makes a console full of objects and things to distract him and let him move on. Also, because he’s often distracted by the shiny, she made herself shiny.

You're going to love series 5, Megan. It's very fairytale, Smith is the best Doctor, Amy and Rory are great, the story arc is interesting, it's funny, jumpy and timey wimey! Can't say more than that right now though... #Spoilers

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but, I believe this Tardis design was chosen from a competition, where people sent in their designs and this was chosen. (I'm remembering from around the time this episode was airing, just before by a month maybe)

My favorite themes are 2008 theme and the 12th Doctor Theme.

I love the Matt Smith era. He is MY Doctor. Although the first episode I saw live was The Planet of the Dead. So I did see the last few David Tennant episodes before being introduced to Matt Smith.

Dear Matt Smith; You're going to have to replace one of the greatest Doctors in history. You're going to do this in a season where people are mourning the loss of one of the best companions in history. And more so than any of the other Doctors before you, your time as the Doctor will revolve around your companions right from the opening episode. And you're going to be so brilliant that your companions will regularly steal the show, turning those actors into big stars long after they leave the show, and it won't seem to damage you and your run in any way.

Karen Gillen (older Amy) is cousins with the actress who played young Amy. Although they had never met before filming the episode.

Not gonna lie a lot of my favourite bits missing but still a good reaction and im glad megan likes the look of it shes going to enjoy whats coming im sure.

Just remembering when I first watched this episode when it came out and I hated everything about it apart from Amy. Ah memories. The series definitely got better as it went along and series six and seven are both really good but series 1-4 will always be my favourites. Not sorry at all because those days were incredible and the graphics weren't the best, I agree, but this was 2005 calm down guys

I disagree with your point when you said nobody likes 11’s theme. Most people I’ve heard who talks about the theme says that’s their favorite

Capaldi has the worst theme tune of new who

I haven't liked doctor who ever since series 4 ended. Too much changed and I didn't like it, especially the intro which I preferred having a scary rocky theme to it. This weird funky one I thought ruined everything and it just got worse from there.
