undoubtedly roc nation is helping her get to that superstar status, but megan’s own work is something people overlook too much. She been grinding for years and has been the same throughout, it’s nice to see an artist i’ve listened to for years get all this success. Best believe megan act 2 going diamond on my playlist 😂

Roc Nation is doing what Roc Nation should be doing with Megan. Shes been getting brand deals and appearances left and right, I had A BLAST at her tour, and I'm certain you can tell there's a certain demographic that always brings up Megan and the 64k as if she wasn't NUMBER THREE OF 200 THAT WEEK because they don't understand that artists being in various forms of revenue. It's not about streams or album sales. She's been killing it and I hope it's only up from her. The album is mostly a bop as well

Speaking of Megan, yes, she is everywhere this year. She's evolved so much throughout her breakout in 2018. Roc Nation is definitely pushing her to be another superstar, which, duh, it's their job. She has a management deal with them, she's going to be everywhere. If you put the beef and past controversies aside, if you simply don't wanna see / hear about her you could easily tune her out. RN is definitely working hard behind the scenes to make sure she's in everyone's face lol.

What y'all are failing to realize is that TALENT always proceeds no matter what! Regardless of how anyone feels Meg can rap her SSA Off! The pen is always penning. I will be honest, nicki got y'all too obsessed with numbers instead of pure talent! No matter what challenges Meg faces, she still pushes forward leading with her talent!

Can i ask a serious question ? Why do we always talk about “first week sales”? What about the rest of the year that the album is still charting ?

Music is a business it needs to make money regardless of how much you enjoy the music it has to sell. Megan’s ROI is very interesting she doesn’t sell nearly enough to make a return. She’s working to make their money back since it won’t come back in sales.

Megan’s deal was a rookie contract with 1501 that her mother helped organize. She was given a very generous split of 40% when most new artists get between 8-12%. She was singed by roc nation because they saw a superstar to add to their roster nothing more. Hence why she was given a Beyoncé feature. Beyoncé hardly collab with anyone especially new artists so roc nation gave her the feature as a lil bonus to get her to sign. While her work ethic is respected, it’s the character of her personality that many people have a problem with.

I always get confused when people compare newer artist to someone whose been in the industry longer than their time outside of it. And album sales aren’t the same streaming services killed the album consumer.

Them saying her not selling is a flat out lie. #1 single on billboard with HISS 1x platinum! Mamushi 2x platinum! Wanna Be 2x platinum. Cobra 1x platinum, Boa Gold. In just this year alone. Music wise she’s made millions this year. And her album went top 3 and is the only female rap album to go top 10 other than doja and Nicki. So Her getting these deals isn’t just because she’s getting a push it’s because she’s culturally and musically relevant and actually brings income and has influence. So these brands are more than happy to work with her. And her proximity to the Carters including her 3 grammys just increase her notoriety. And her tour sold out every show in America . So the tour tropes are also false. Especially when everyone was saying she couldn’t even sell out arenas in the first place .

I love Meg, but I don’t feel like she truly crossed over. It seems like they’re just pushing her everywhere to get people to like her. I watched her VMA performance and people weren’t really rapping with her. I watched other artists perform like Sabrina and you could hear everyone screaming the lyrics. Nicki goes on tour, Meg has to do it too even though she could not fill those arenas and had to end early., Nicki hosts VMA, Meg had to do it the following year- why not another award show?
