Prince Phillip was definitely an alpha male. No wallflower or push over. But he had no problems walking behind his wife the Queen. Allowing her to go first etc. He knew it was just tradition ,procall,respect of the monarch. In private , as a family, I feel he was in charge. Megan has to go front and centre with harry. No embarrassment of being seen to grab him and pull him back to let her go ago. Her stock answer/ excuse - as an American I don't know about these royal traditions. Quite frankly, those women are absolute opposites in terms of personality, thank goodness! However, apart from all of that, in terms of rank, they are not on the same level in terms of the hierarchy of the Royal Family, as everyone knows.

Perhaps Meghan Markle is jealous of Catherine, Princess of Wales. That is an opinion but it it doesn't give it any validity to be true or false. I don't think Meghan Markle would want Catherine's life because she wouldn't be accepted by the public and she could never fit into it or be happy doing it. These two are polar opposites. Catherine fits into the Royal family and the life quite well. She has chosen it for herself.

I think she did tell her to keep it. Still gobsmacked her mother never explained hygienic practices. All of my black women friends and workmates have great hygiene and beautiful manners. As an American, I thought it was beautiful when I saw Princess Catherine say I'm William's wife. I took it as her saying, "I'm so proud of him that I'm so proud to be his wife." In my opinion I feel Princess Catherine sees herself as a homemaker first, and a working Royal is just her job. She does a beautiful job balancing her duties with home life.

I don't know about the 'job' choice of a word in your comment. Catherine explained her role to the child in language they'd understand i.e words like wife, husband, mother, father etc.

The two women would never have bonded no matter how much Catherine tried to make M feel welcome. There's nothing wrong in what Catherine said, in fact, she was playing down her role. The difference between the two women is that Catherine viewed herself as joining William and his family with love and respect and an awareness of their place in history. In contrast, Mrs Harkle felt no respect for Harry's family and viewed them as a gig---and a gig that was ripe for exploitation.

While I agree entirely with you I also watch another channel that looks at different parts of the internet and what is being said. And that included - recently - a group/channel dedicated to ''feminists and feminism''. Believe me, Meghan's version of feminism is a lot more common in the US (and probably elsewhere but this was purely US posts) than the true version of feminism is. Their attitude is more ''unless you're doing what I'm doing then you aren't a feminist'' and it seems to be that ''feminism'' has two forms. Either you marry someone wealthy enough to support you, dedicate your life to being nothing more than a wife and mother (think what they call a ''trad'' wife) right down to setting out your demands even before you agree to go on a date with someone or you are the total opposite and unless you shun men (unless you absolutely need them for ''naughties'' when you can pay or one) and spend your entire life working for money/prestige/power then you aren't a feminist. Rather enlightening but also hilariously funny when he reads some of the posts. But according to their definition Catherine (along with thousands, millions, of others) isn't a feminist.

If Meghan has *really* buried herself into her royal role, then yes. But, by the time the wedding happened, I'm pretty certain Meghan had shown her true colours and was out to milk the royal connection with everything she had.
Markle never got anything on her own - her father used his connections to get her jobs; her first or second husband got her - her first full time job on SUITS, and Harry got her everything she could never have gotten on her own. There was nothing wrong with saying I'm William's wife! That does not make her subservient or other. Catherine has come into her own. She is part of the monarchy. However, she has carved out her own programs, which are very successful. She is a wife and a mother. Princess Catherine can do it all!
I saw that clip. William was nearby, and when the child asked who she was, she turned towards William and said I'm his wife. That little boy was 5 or 6 years old, and perfectly understood what she said and who she was. There was no need for her to teach him a history lesson or tell him words he would not understand. She gave the best answer.

I think saying she’s Williams wife was very acceptable. He’s the birth Royal, he will be King. Catherine understands that she has all of this and a crown to come because she is his wife. Nothing wrong with that. She gave him honor. Meghan would never be happy to say that. She doesn’t honor her husband enough to do that.
I doubt Meego respects Harry at all, no way she honors him, where I do think Catherine respects and admires her husband because he's worthy of it.
