Anybody catch how Meghan Trainor slowed the tempo down and the band picked up on it within a few beats...incredible singers and an incredible band on the Voice UK
She did kinda signal them with her right hand to give them a sense that it was a little fast for her at 0:37. Most lead singers will have some sort of signal like that so they don't lose their place in the song.
@@H0oLIgAnSsRo0lMaRrSz that’s the beauty of it. It’s a subtle signal that the audience will almost never realize she’s actually troubleshooting mid-performance that passed as a dance move lol
Agreed. These stage piano players have chops for sure. People don't realize it because the focus is on the singer, but he delivered exceptionally. Thanks for noticing us band players in the back ;)
This is the very reason why Olly Murs and Meghan Trainor NEED to collaborate on an album. Their voices flow together in perfect harmony even though this was probably the first time they actually ever did a duet together. I would not be surprised if they actually pull it off just like Ed Sheeran and get the album to the top of the charts.
Must remember that very little in the way of original music writing goes on any more. Most songs are sampled and resampled and over and over. Additionally because the music industry churns out copy hits like machine, a lot of songs out at the same time will be similar if not identical.
No idea, but both songs have a similar beat and rythmn. The correlation has been going on for ages. Even before this, mashups were made of their songs.
In case anyone doesn't realize, both of the songs use the same background music from the song Run Around Sue which is why their own songs work so well when mashed together.
Well yes and no. While Runaround Sue does use this melody it isn't the first. In fact Quarter to Three by Gary U.S. Bonds came out before it and Dion said it was the inspiration for his song. And both songs are considered Doo-Wop. A subgenre which in itself uses this similar song structure for many songs and was first introduced in the 1940s.
I love Meghan Trainor she’s a real woman with buckets of talent. It would be great to see more women like her in the music industry. Plus this mash up is brilliant
I love when she says, "You go first. Sing your song" like she didn't care about hogging the spotlight, she just wanted to share the moment with Olly. That was super sweet.
ugh ive loved hearing people mash these two songs together throughout the years, and now they’ve ACTUALLY mashed up the songs IN REAL LIFE 😍😍😍 im obsessed with this 🔥
I wanted to comment this so bad on the original video, but we need a studio version of this!! Also there was no beef.. I mean, they were under the same label.
I'm an old lady from the classic rock era; I've often seen Meghan's name but didn't know who she was. Gosh, I am totally in love with her voice now; it's so unique! I'm glad she broke into the business successfully so that we all can enjoy it! ☺️
This grandma suffers from bipolar disorder and ptsd and several other mental disorders and severe anxiety somedays. Somedays I'm so sad I can't even get out of bed but playing this makes my bad days eaiser😢😢 I have lost 5 angel babies and I am broken forever 💔 thank you for easing my pain on those really hard days 💔 😢 😭😭😭😭😭
I just keep coming back to this awesome mash up. Its seamless and such a pleasure to listen to ... effortless. Such professionals and Meghans timber in her voice is so unique and Olly just slip streams. Be great if they did a duet together. 🙏
Why am I just seeing this now for the first time?! I love it! I don't know if this was actually an impromptu performance, but the whole thing just made me so happy :)!!
Wouldn't it be great to know that whatever musical note came outta your mouth was as in tune, harmonious and melodic as this. Sigh... I wish ! Loved this.
