A little known fact from Toronto - Bboy Megus (aka Vengeance) is the one who invented what is now known as the Toronto Style, popularized by Bboy Dyzee. In the early 90's Megus came up with the signature "loopy" footwork that Toronto is known for, and he is also a major pioneer in threading. Dyzee learned a lot off Megus, and was also influenced by Bboy Deadly Mike, despite not being in the same crew. So what Dyzee brought to the world is a combination of the very best elements and concepts from Toronto's own bboy scene. Not to call him a biter, because he has a ton of original stuff, but the environment makes the bboy, no matter how original one's new concepts are. This video is a great demo of old school Ontario talent.
It's funny, generally when i look at footage from 2003 2004 2005 it seems like a long time ago and everything looks old, but this footage makes 2000 seem just as fresh as 09.
I wudn't say dyzee bit them when he constantly credits those guys when he speaks about where he got his style from? he encourages ppl to go and look up ppl like Megas all the time
In here you can see dizzy getting owned by two of the bboys he bite from and is now trying to take credit from. Of course u broke like shit, you were bboying with the KINGS of TORONTO!! MEGAS & DEADLY!! Plus KENNY getting busy in OTTAWA!! big up OTTAWA BBOYIN!!
