Cat Lady is not the insult it used to be. Marriage and child rearing is no longer the means to an end like it used to be for women, they get to create their own lives. This is an antiquated insult.

I was a child free cat lady for 31 years and I don’t regret a moment of it. I didn’t feel unfulfilled without a child, and most of that time I wasn’t interested in having a child. I never felt miserable for having a cat. I’m happy with my baby and my cat, but I was also happy with just my cat.
Right? Why would the pet I chose to adopt be making me miserable? I love both my cats and I'd get a 3rd if I knew my 2 could handle a friend. I've never been miserable with my decision to have a cat

Do people seriously think Ohio was always some red state? Half of it is Rust Belt. We like our unions. We voted with Bill Clinton in the 90s and Barrack Obama in the 2010s then we got abandoned by the party for the help we needed down ballot and naturally that lack of help becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. I think that its just full of trump supporters atm, even union trump supporters that vote against their own interests. While its not impossible for Ohio to go blue in 24, it really would be a waste of resources to focus on it as a strategy when it is much easier to focus on states with much closer margins.
@@ianvacek4048 Currently, yes. Historically, Ohio is a swing state. There's a lack of energizing of the progressive half of the state after Bernie got shafted in the previous two primaries. The MAGA camp only got emboldened to turn out since then. Hopefully whenever the GOP finally moves on from Trump, they have to work to get Ohio back and then maybe the blue cavalry will arrive to win over the state again

Yes! And you shouldn't have to have children you don't want. That's not a bad thing. What's a bad thing is forcing someone to have kids they don't want and then being surprised that kid is neglected, abused, traumatized and ends up I'll adjusted and in jail or addicted. I'm not saying all will. I'm not and was an unwanted kid who was all of those things, but the studies are there that those things effect child development. So would the proposition of taxing childless people apply as soon as someone turns 18? Like, one day youre a highschool kid thats applying to colleges, maybe looking for a job opportunity, doing highschool extra curriculars, ect, and then after your birthday youre being financially punished for not having a kid of your own before you even have a career or even know what you want to major in?? I love how conservatives 20 years ago would say "well you shouldn't have had kids its your own problem!" To a struggling single mother but now theyre like "no you must all have children and not think about the economic consequences, just have kids and figure it out later!!!"

Cats don't stress me out. I don't have to tell a cat to shower everyday or be annoyed at messes they leave behind or worry about them losing their temper or deciding they don't want to parent anymore and disappear without warning or any of the other myriad of obnoxious shit men do that make women's lives worse. Cats add value to my life. When men can do the same then I'll consider having a kid.
