The sound must be bad. With one spring and weak material on the front part with small screws it does not give a good tone. That is why it does not present the sound
I might mention to NOT add glue to the front piece! You might need to open it up to make modifications or repairs. The screws allow you to open and close. Nice job on the video, thank you!
Great video. Thanks. I built one recently but made a few mistakes along the way so it's not as clean as I'd like. How does it sound? Mine sounds like too much metal rattle from the snare? Maybe because the wood isn't flush? I also need to spend more time sanding. Thanks again.
Thanks, really helpful as our kit has arrived without the block for the snare and now I can see what it looks like. Your instructions are super clear too.
ill let you into a secret, i stuck the block on the wrong bit of wood and could not remove it as the glue was too strong! I literally screwed it right into one of the supports!
Completely ignored the proper way to secure the back. Follow the instructions not this. And every wood surface that touches another wood surface needs a generous coating of glue.
Hi - thanks for the video. It really helped me as the instructions aren't great, especially with the snare positioning. One tip I'd add is not to add the rubber feet until after youve varnished it a few times. This kind of wood is going to pick up every kind of greasy fingerprint and all kinds of dirt if you don't varnish it, or treat it in some way or other. Thanks again
Great job my friend! The only thing that I would do differently would he to use a 2,5mm drill instead of a 3mm. The screws that came in the box barely have 3mm diameter and almost half the screws I tried to snugh would just fall inside the drilled hole
Thanks for the tutorial! 2 things I'd add are 1) 7:39 When countersinking the screw holes for the front, you can flip the screw head upside down and place it in the hole to check if the size is right 2) 7:51 I think you forgot to mention that you pre-drilled the front panel the holes into the body. I'm not sure if this is necessary but it looks like that's what you did.
thanks for the feedback :) checking the screws fit in the countersunk hole is a great tip! As for as the pre drilled holes I think these are from the first time I screwed the front panel on ( I hadn't countersunk the holes) , I then unscrewed countersunk the holes and screwed It together
Hi, Mark!!! I need you opinion Do you think is it correct place for strings in this cajon? I think it will be sound in bass area, not in snare. I am buy and going to assemble same kit, but this point is questioning. Mabe better to stick it in upper area from side? Thank you
@@blewettmark Thank you, Mark! My is on the way. I have one more set of strings, so i will install two pieces, like in more expencive brown version. Your manual is very useful!!!
It does my middle aged heart good to see someone so young wearing what looks like a recently purchased Iron Maiden t-shirt. It gives one hope for the future it does.
I envy you. Since the end of the Arena Rock era around 89 they almost never come to the States. When they do they only hit some of the bigger cities and the tickets are usually sold out before it's advertised that tickets are on sale.
Took my 17 year old to Nashville to see Maiden this summer, he love playing bass and Maiden and Rush are his favorites to play. There's plenty of hope :)
