I just saw this show with Roger Bart and Shuler Hensley! As Mel Brooks said "It's the best God Damn Show Ever Done" The sets, the actors, the lighting, Mel's wonderful humor. It was amazing!
I saw this show twice! And I would see it 400 more times! Its so funny and so clever! Sutton and Roger are perfect together! Megan is so fantastic! Christopher and Andrea were piss your pants funny! It was so AMAZING! Mel Brooks is a freakin genius! I would recommend it to everyone! Its the BEST show on Broadway!
Omg. I got to see it when it was in seattle and i went to the stage door afterwards. I MET SUTTON, ROGER, & CHRISTOPHER!!!!!!! They were so great. Sutton is my idol. I got to see her in The Drowsy Chaperone too. This is such a great show!!! Christopher is like MY Orlando Bloom. Lol. Hes so funny
I don't know how much she comes out in NYC but in SEattle she did. The tricky thing is that she is hard to spot because she is a brunette and looks totally different and I jokingly referred to her as "the elusive Sutton Foster." Whereas Roger and Megan automatically come over to autograph, Sutton would sneak away. When we called out for her she came over and signed autographs. Very gracious.
This is such an amazing show. Honestly, everyone needs to see this show. It's hillarious. Amazing cast. Just a great, great show. I would really like to see it again!!!!!!!!!! :]
I love th3e music but i haven't seen the show. I have seen the movie though. What people don't realize is that Gene Wilder originally wrote this story so Thank you Gene for writing it and getting Mel Brooks in it with you.
I saw the show on Sutton and Andrea's last day. It was amazing, I am upset, though, that none of the stars came out for autograph's. My sister was looking for ward to meeting Megan, and so was I!
she does both. she was absolutely lovely when I met her. the couple before us handed her a phone call from switzerland (apparently) and she spoke to them for a good few minutes.
I saw this for the third time yesterday. Megan, Roger, Christopher, Schuler, and Andrea were fantastic as usual. I also met a bunch of them before the show, since a lot don't come out to sign autographs afterwards. Sutton's understudy, Renee Feder still has a lot to learn. I noticed a few mistakes during her performance. She has a great voice though. After the show, Megan came out - lovely as always. Anyone know how long her contract is for? Sutton is there til July that I know of.
Sutton has been out of the show for quite a few weeks at this point. First she sprained her ankle, and then "she went on vacation" which I think is code for recovering from her pending divorce. I don't know if she's back on the show, but I went last week and it was her understudy. I was told she was due back within a few days.
I went to see it just the other night, and Megan WAS NOT there....ughhh...so mad. The understudy wasn't bad, but she wasn't Megan Mullally. I might've cried if Sutton Foster hadn't been there.
Sutton walked past me. She's not very friendly. No autographs or pictures. She came out of the stagedoor and just walked away. It was kinda sad, her being my idle and all.
Wait, I don't get it. Sutton is understudy? I've heard that she like broke her ankle or something. But I don't really know what happened. Can anybody clarify? Merci!
Megan was on her "vacation week" which is why you missed her. I am assuming that all the lead cast members were given the opportunity to negotiate a week off during the run. Too bad you missed Megan, as she is fantastic.
First thing that I feel I need to point out it that the performers in this show aren'd 'doing playback', this shows a recording session for the CD of the show. And second, thats a very prejudiced comment to make and not a very positive contribution to the RU-vid community.
Gah! I went to see it and Roger wasn't there. broke my heart. I heard about Sutton and Christian breaking up too. There was an article about her getting "close" to Roger! Weird.
