Well, at least, the "5" in the title will eclipse the number in gradient associated with the Intelligence Quotient of any member of this prospective project's intended or eventual audience.
Neither Wayne nor Eastwood have the acting abilittys Mel has. They're classicly stoic, cold and distant, that's not acting that's just being whom they are.
Chad Painters Pallete Right on :) And the younger guy is his new partner who is crazier than he is, a real head case, lunatic with a gun. That's the movie right here! Haha...
I watched the 2004 Punisher movie and saw a lot of shots that paid homage to Mad Max. If they made a legit Punisher movie in the late 90s Mel would’ve been perfect
I've read in an article that the 5th movie is most likely going to be a definite because Richard Donner (director) confirmed that Mel and Danny will return for their roles and has the story all set. If this movie keeps it plans to be made and start filming soon, the movie will be called "Lethal Finale". When this movie is made, it is on my top list to see.
I love this guy!! Everybody judging the guy! We ALL are not perfect! How bout taking a look at the charity work he’s done and how many children he’s helped!
Mel Gibson seems like the kind of guy that only lacks some good, strong friends.

although glover is 71 i think they could still do something... maybe this time murtaugh really does get too old for this shit and finally gets the retirement hes been waiting for... but one big case thts haunted him from way back tht he never solved draws him back in... so who does he call to help him? none other than LEO GETZ and then... i dont know.
Chris Bradley Listen this....Roger is already in retirement and then he dies and Riggs gets a new partner, young and crazier than he is. Some full on headcase and adventure starts there! And Leo Gets...FUCK HIM! LOL
Mel's made mistakes in his life, just like ALL of us have. But I would bet money, that he'd give you the shirt off his back, if you really needed it. I grew up watching the lethal weapon movies. Mel is someone I've always idolized, since I was a little kid. He's one of the greatest actors, and directors of our time.
You're probably right. Mel has had a rough go in no small part due to his father being a horrible SOB who screwed Mel up for life. Yet he managed to come out of it and focus that energy into his acting which is why there's such a weight to Riggs especially. He's got a lot of bad stuff to pull from. But there's a kindness to him as well. Look at his relationship with Robert Downey Jr. They worked together on Air America in 1990. Both of them had already had their own issues with alcohol and/or drugs which probably created the foundation for their relationship and knowing what the other is dealing with. Robert Downey Jr was already a star on the rise. He was Oscar nominated for Chaplin in 1992. But his demons started catching up with him. There was a time when he was almost unhireable. Not just because of his reputation with drugs but you need insurance to work on a movie and nobody would give it to him because they thought he was a risk to relapse which would mean they'd lose their money because it's paid back to the producers as compensation if the movie gets screwed up. Mel was producing a movie called 'The Singing Detective'. He not only hired RDJ for the lead role he paid for his insurance out of his own pocket. He trusted that his friend would make it through. He did. A few years later RDJ is in Iron Man. It goes the other way too. When Jon Favreau stepped down as director of Iron Man 3, RDJ was considering leaving if he didn't get someone he approved of. One of the first people discussed at the time was Mel Gibson. RDJ wanted to return the kindness. Unfortunately Mel was in a lot of trouble at that point and Disney had to step in because they didn't want to be associated with Mel at that time which is why Shane Black got the job. Mel has struggled but he's still working and even though Richard Donner passed away he's supposed to be directing the final Lethal Weapon movie which means it could be something pretty incredible if Mel still has the chops.
He was good in those films, but that was 22 plus years ago and now Mel is 64 and Danny is turning 74. How would they perform those roles at their ages?
I can see a LW5 working nicely with the right script. Obviously we're 20 years down the line from the last one- a point at which both lead characters were closing in on retirement. It would be great to see the 2 officers retired and having experienced a period of peace and family time. The plot could focus on a traumatic event, possibly a recently resurfaced loose end from their past, that draws them back into the fold, possibly as honorary or advisory roles to the LAPD. Of course to start with, the younger officers will balk at having a couple of old geezers in tow, but they soon learn the old war horses still know how to kick ass and get stuff done, old school style.
I wish he would have talked about his stem cell treatments. Apparently stem cell treatments have completely healed his bad shoulders and has done wonders for his health and reverse aging. He actually looks a lot healthier and stronger now than he did about 3 or 4 years ago.
Man, in the normal movie world that's just considered a hint.. but if this were a comic book movie, and that sort of confirmation were given, if that movie does happen there would be insane outrage.
Yes would be one of the best movies. I’ve got the box set with every episode 1 to 4. Have watched them dozen and dozens of times and know what happens next. So yes bring out 5. Would love to meet Mel Gibson in real life. Danny Glover a legend too.
A fifth Lethal Weapon with Riggs' son and Murtaugh's granddaughter as fresh recruits into the LAPD would be great. Have a retired Riggs and Murtaugh still wanting some action
This guy just comes with so much 'Weight'. i think we all know that's pretty clear now. what a Juggernaut. Mel. Just Bad Ass...no matter what he does. Wiser. Stronger. few more scars and lines on his face....and, he's unstoppable.
If they do a Lethal Weapon 5, I'm soooooo in!!! I need to see good ol Leo though and Butters too!! If they can do Bad Boys 4Life then damnit why cant we have a Last Weapon or Ultimate Weapon or Weapons of Mass Destruction?!?!?! Something damnit!!! Oh and one more Beverly Hills Cop, one more 48hrs, and PLEASE do a sequel to Life and have Ray and Claud show what they was doing after the broke out!!
It needs to happen, Lethal weapon belongs to one of the best classic, action franchises, die hard is great but I reckon Lethal weapon is better. Plus I love Mel.
And the Lethal Weapon 5 Ferenc (Frank) Martin script is available on paperback too : www.amazon.com/s/ref=dp_byline_sr_book_1?ie=UTF8&text=Ferenc+%28Frank%29+Martin&search-alias=books&field-author=Ferenc+%28Frank%29+Martin&sort=relevancerank
Wow i hope they do part 5 and name it (Lethal Weapon, We Are too old for this!), assign them a mission impossible or something very top to very old cops and they crew it up again
It's really wild watching Gibson in real life as like at the start of this interview watch his lips bouncing all over his mouth and almost grinding of his teeth which people with anger problems do most ( and I don't mean that with any horrible feelings) You watch him playing a character and there's nothing like that there no matter how long the cameras fixed onto his face. The guys lived and learned like the rest of us and made it through it all. Great actor/director and person and I wish him the best in life, unless it would be the both of them in another film then I don't think it would be very popular as there's nothing worst than the people being replaced.
Don't know about y'all, but I'm happy Mel's back! I knew he wasn't going to be gone forever! Good thing there hasn't been any accusations against him like what happened to Kevin Spacey, or Harvey Weinstein for ex. Glad to see him back in action!
He is amazing person. I don't care about the things he does in personal life to be truth. We have to care of him with forgiveness he deserves it for what he gave to all of us If we want him back again and I want so much I'm fully happy about it for him. Once rebel. Rebel for entire live no matter what it is what defines the best of Mel Gibson for the positive things.
Mad Max, the one and only. I thought Gibson and Glover hated each other? Be great to see them as the Team again but not sure how it would work them chasing bad guys on their walkers and such. lol!
mel still seems very hurt by everything that happend. I feel for guy. he didnt really do anything that millions of others can do when there in a bad place and have had way to much to drink. diffrence is the rest of us dont get it draged out in frount of the world and played all over you tube. and no really cares or remebers if your unknown. hes a good person that went through an awful bad time. credit to him for dealing with it. it must be so fucking hard to have to face up to going thought something like that.
