This is a clip from Keith's two-part interview, filmed over two days, with Mel Hyland. Keith had the opportunity to interview Mel when he, Mel & Jill Barron were judges at the Heart Of The Horse colt starting competition in August of 2022. Our apologies that the sound quality isn't better. The washrack of the arena was the only quiet space available during the exciting, busy event.
Stay tuned for the full interview! CCU Club members will be the first to gain access to the full interview in the CCU Video Library.
You can learn more from Keith, and access his THREE FREE mini-courses when you join the Cowboy Campus Connection weekly newsletter list. Every Friday we send a letter to our community packed with horsemanship tips, training videos, quotes, western art, Keith’s weekly blog post and more! You can join the Cowboy Campus Connection list for free at CowboyCampus.com & when you do you’ll receive free access to multiple mini-courses.
Thanks for watching this video! Please like and subscribe for more horsemanship content, and leave us a comment if you’d like to share your thoughts. We’d sure like to hear them!

It is so cool to hear this guy. I was privileged to make a number of Ray Hunt clinics back in the day, and one of them was with my best friend of my life, a born and bred Colorado cowboy who knew a thing or two himself, but said "You can always learn something!" These are the best people.

Fascinating! I dragged my second husband over to Gardnerville, Nv from Modesto to see Ray Hunt. Eugene had been with the Marines in Korea, but had never touched a horse, but had acquired serious Zen philosophy. He was elated! Decreed Ray "Zen cowboy!" Whole outlook on life in relating in an aware way with this special other species.

How long would you suggest would be an acceptable length for your beginner lead rope on average? I am asking for a friend. Thanks in advance
