Melanie in concert at the 20 Years After Woodstock Reunion 1989. I do not own the Rights to the video. No monetary gain has been made. I am a fan of Melanie and only wish to allow other Melanie fans to view.
Put Melanie in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame posthumously. It's an unbelievable shame that she wasn't inducted in her lifetime. Such a generational icon and talent! RIP beautiful soul. Cheers\=/\=/
When I was 11, I heard lay down. Fell in love with her voice, as I listend, started to understand what she was saying. My introduction to the love generation. From her, I learned there is more than one, or another, but all. Many have said this, but none with such eloquence or beauty. Thank you.
RIP beautiful soul! I will never forget you at Bethel in 89, singing with you and Richie around the fire was one of the biggest moments of my life. Love and light to you. Thank you for being you!
An obvious shock at her passing Thankfully we still have her music. .Melanie was one of a handful of artists whose music left a lasting impression on a very young me. RIP Melanie RIP.
Melanie personifies a brief, magic moment that I was just old enough to remember; a new era of peace and harmony seemed actually possible. An age of innocence. What followed can only be described as cruel. Her spirit of innocence never succimbed. Thank you, Melanie.
While listening to her song about her kids saying "oh mom, you're universal love is such a drag"....I'm thinking that when her kids look back to this time, they realize that she was probably the absolutely coolest soccer mom on the planet.
Beautiful Melanie. This brings tears to my eyes. Beautiful people we need to come together again and stop letting the leaders of countries divide us as they hide safely behind their walled fortresses and armed guards. We need leaders who want peace and law and order not wars.
I ADORE Melanie I have since I was a teenager in the 60's what a Groovy era that was..The best era in my opinion..I was fortunate to have been a part of it...
I was 12 years old when I first heard this music from melanie which it was lay down lay down and candle in the rain I am from Nicaragua and friend of us brought this record to managua back in 1970, when she came back to Nicaragua from San Francisco California she brought this record to my nice and nephew and they star listening and was there when I heard it and really like friend of them came to united States when they were little with their parent and aunt, they send it to them and now I am 60 years old guy and I still listen this music through via yu tube.and still like very nice music Melanie.
so many wonderful comments dearest, im just another fan yet I imagine we all hold you up for ever dear Spirit as you well know from those days long ago when the music didn't die yet and then we were one again and everything back then before John left...my God dearest thanks for this I love you in the way of the corner of Haight/Ashbury where we first met...
So wonderful, what beautiful music. Such a sweet spirit this gal has, and a lovely team. Melanie is so artistic and talented in her creativity and unique style, filled with passion. She really supports togetherness and love! Thanks for sharing!
I was fortunate to see Melanie live on stage, and I was standing at the center stage. Of course; I was 15 at Powder Ridge, and She was the ONLY one on the list that showed.
Nice to see someone acknowledge that. My friends and I drove up to Powder Ridge and found that the organizers had no money and no clue...yet there were thousands of people there expecting another Woodstock...but there was no potable water, no food, and the mood was turning ugly fast as people realized there wasn't going to be a concert. Melanie heard about what was going on and decided - unlike all the other scheduled performers - that money didn't come first on this occasion..and she showed up and played out of the love in her heart, and prevented a bad scene from becoming a complete disaster.
The Dream "can't must die"!!! Many, many Thanks sweet MELANIE, thanks sweet JONI, thanks sweet, JOAN : "I LOVE YOU"😊😊😊!!! The Old boy Today, remember again!!! Woodstock '70- Woodstock '89- The show must go on!!! A long Life to you, : HLodowing '55😊
When I was in high school all young girls had her album and wanted to look like her, her music touched us, it was so special. If only there was a rock n roll hall of fame for all the artists that inspired love and beauty in the world for young girls and boys growing into adulthood...So few out there that did this after the 60's- most just inspired sex and now only those that inspire sex and satanism are in the music industry.
J'aime Melanie depuis 1969 - Woodstock et son album "Born to be", son interprétation de Mr Tambourine man, et puis "The Saddest Thing, Beautiful People!
By good luck I was part of that crowd that walked down Route 17 and on through the open gates of the Woodstock Concert. Melanie's music and poetry were imprinted on my brain. Happy to see that the spirit of that time goes on. Thanks for the posting.
Far out, I was there. It was a magical weekend. Found most of the concert on a double DVD. Took me a long search. I am out there in the crowd somewhere
Thnxs Most pleasing, have followed Melanie for near 50 years, Wow just realised some tracks here MElanie sounds like indigo girls, they do a version of Mark Knoflers ROMEO & JULIET. All Brilliant.
Since I was there an have the double DVD, I wonder if You Tube would allow me to upload it. I am not getting monitezed on my channel yet by choice. When I can get the time to add more videos, then maybe
I was there. It has been highly idealized by people who weren't. The concert was attended mainly by middle and upper middle class white kids who were in college and thus 50% of them were safe from the draft. No one would expect any trouble from that socio-economic demographic and none happened. There were bad trips aplenty. Psychedelic drugs were openly sold inside the boundary, but I got to see what happened to one of them who walked outside that perimeter. They were jumped by the New York State Police and hauled away.
Go see her perform live now if you can. If you think that crowd was small 20 years ago, I was surprised how few people - a small dinner-club's full, in New Jersey (her home state!) - would pay to see her 3 years ago. The woman needs us all to return her love.
Hi, you have the most relevant song for today: stop, I don't want to hear it". I hope you pass it on. I am in Portland, Oregon but a Florida native. Please share your music.
