I love this version of this song, I think she did it very well. Yes, there are parts of the musical mixed into this so yeah, she doesn't include them. Also, she's recording an album, not trying to continue a plotline so if it doesn't seem like she's acting it's because she's not. But to all the haters, she does have stage acting experience so your complaints are moot point. Well, that and the fact that she was recording an album, something that I doubt any of you have done in the same manner.

Mel C. has ALWAYS put the POW in "Girl Power" with her voice. This recording is the absolute BEST of all the recordings of this piece on RU-vid. #1 hands down. The others have pretty voices but she captures the FEELING, the urgency intended and she cares more than ANY of them.

I give her alot of credit, but a pop voice doesn't have the stamina for broadway. Case in point, Mandy Moore., however, if they updated the orchestration, and the orchestra...or glorified midi could follow her voice, it would have been much more successful...still, at least it isn't Russell crowe's haven't.

I think what I don't like about this is the fact that she doesn't act at all, the focus just seems to be on her trying to sing the notes, as it's a really tricky one to physically sing. I just would like to see her do it properly and stop back phrasing and adding triplets In all over the place. It's her own interpretation I guess but doesn't really fit for me because her pop style doesn't help. Good for her though!
