I'm one of the few people on the planet that somehow seemed to miss most of the 'spice mania' thing. But I'm a fan of Melanie as a solo artist, and v familiar with her personality etc. Of the other four spice girls, Victoria was probably the one I've understood the least about, despite her clearly having the biggest public profile, as her image always seemed to be that she's quite distant and even a little cold. So I quite enjoyed this interview for that reason, as it's the first time I've really heard her as a warm personality. Out of interest, are there any other parts to this radio show of Melanie's anywhere online?
Victoria gets a lotta flack because her "thing" is not smiling, so she's often scolded in the media for being cold, distant, or a bitch... which is far from the truth. It's true that back it the day she was more "alive" as people would put it, but havin' the media follow you constantly wherever ya go does take its toll, so now she does it more intentionally to piss 'em off. She's still shy to an extent in regards to singing I believe, which is probably why she doesn't sing in public unless it's along with the other girls for support. I think Mel B and Geri's presence help bring it outta her.
Watch the other interviews, you'd be surprised with Victoria, she's not as bad as other people think, she has the warmest and coolest attitude. I just could not find the clip.
So if getting up together to sing was just so much fun why won’t Posh re-join the band? I was only thinking today that the if the spice girls actually liked each other as much as they say they would actually spend more time as a group. Proves they really don’t like each other as much as they make out
The media makes up crap all the time about 'em (and everyone), twists truths around or takes thinks outta context just to make a profit. I would steer clear of advertising-based media for a start. As for Posh, it's simply because she works all the time and has kids. I did hear (can't remember from where though), that she saw the Olympics performance as the Spice Girls' final swan song and wanted to end their career on a high (don't quote me on that). Regardless, people are allowed to change their minds so maybe she does want to do something again with 'em.
probably because she's over singing...she always got ripped to shreds for her voice (especially when she went solo), and i imagine she doesn't want to deal with that now - especially with her fashion line as it wouldn't be good for her image.
Mel C is so fake. I can't find that interview she did when they played her Victoria's song and she said she ought to give up music. I'll never forget that.
