*Melanie was born a kiwi in Aotearoa New Zealand and has always remained a down to earth kiwi at heart & kept our kiwi accent... even whilst living a life of a celebrity actress she is still a kiwi. 🙂 NZ*

@@lindablue7494 *Yep Melanie was born 16th May 1977 in New Plymouth, New Zealand. Yes she has retained our kiwi accent. Do check out the 1994 movie 'Heavenly Creatures' based on a true crime that happened in New Zealand in the 1950's between two teenage girls, who murdered one of the girls mother. Melanie was one of the main characters. Which was directed by Kiwi Peter Jackson and also written by Peter Jackson & his wife Fran Walsh. Peter Jackson made Lord of the Rings trilogy movies and also the Hobbits... and King Kong and many others. Many kiwis made it into the big time here is a few... Sam Neil, Martin Henderson, Karl Urban, Temuera Morrison, Marton Csokas & Rose McIver... 🙂.*

@@gypsycat11 *yep it is the nickname that we New Zealanders call ourselves a 'kiwi' not to be mistaken by our native flightless 'Kiwi' bird. Nor by our fruit that we eat & export 'Kiwifruit', which sadly the USA & some other countries has shortened the name of our fruit to 'Kiwi' instead of what should be 'Kiwifruit. 🙂nz*
