Cake feels like a song about unrequited love. When it comes to everything else, their relationship is perfect, and he's perfect just as she is. The problem comes when he doesn't love her back the way she loves him. She can't stand not being around him, but he can stand not being around her. ("I feel like I'm just missing something whenever you leave") In a way, I feel like her being referred to as cake and him being referred to as meat feels like an allegory for sex. It feels like they're in a relationship where he doesn't reciprocate her romantic feelings ("while you walk away with the frosting of my heart"). So no matter how good he feels physically, he's not right for her. Because he can exist without her while she can't without him. This is her getting out of this relationship because it isn't healthy for her, and he will regret reducing her to just sex ("I'm not a piece of cake for you to just discard" and "You'll miss the slice of heaven that I gave to you last night").

One of the ways my depression weighs down on me is making listening to music feel miserable, like if I express my suppressed and repressed feelings then I’ll just fall apart at the seams, so the narrative in my head is that I have to suffer alone without the music that has made me feel connected, validated, and heard. HOWEVER, I am so utterly grateful for having found your channel, because there’s something special about your honest, authentic, genuine love and admiration for these works of art that today’s artists are release that has rewire the connection in my brain slowly. Watching you just all out jam and appreciate these songs with no fear is setting a beautiful example for my inner child who’s so deadly afraid to express herself. Thank you endlessly for sharing your experiences with us. Thank you so much for these videos!!!

This is the first ever song I heard from her and ever since this song she's changed my life and I cant thank her enough for it, I feel like I can almost completely be myself now because of her songs she's one of the biggest reasons why I'm still on this planet and writing this right now, my chances of survival would probable be so much lower if I never knew any of her songs

Hello! I'm new to your channel and I really like your reactions and thoughts! I was wondering if you were at all interested in reacting to some Vocaloid songs? If you don't know what Vocaloid is, it's basically a voice program people can buy and use to help create songs. There's thousands of vocaloid songs by different people, but if you react to some I highly suggest these. Please note that all of these songs are originally in Japanese and the vocaloid voices themselves are usually quite high-pitched, so I'll mention some cover artists you may be interested in hearing, too. I do recommend the originals, though. The Lost One's Weeping - Neru [piano version covered by Lizz Robinett or Original covered by JubyPhonic] Unhappy Refrain - Wowaka (RIP) [covered by Will Stetson] Rolling Girl - Wowaka (RIP) [covered by Will Stetson] Unknown Mother Goose - Wowaka (RIP) [covered by Will Stetson] (This is Wowaka's last song before leaving the Vocaloid community) Ghost Rule - Deco*27 [covered by JubyPhonic] Tokyo Teddybear - Neru [covered by a chorus of 101 on SirHamnet's channel] Musunde Hiraite - Hachi [I couldn't find a cover however the live version from Hatsune Miku Expo in New York 2014 is my favorite so I highly recommend] All of these songs are absolutely amazing and I think you'd enjoy them or at the very least the messages they portray!
