She's such an amazing songwriter and singer. You should check out her other videos. I'm so glad you reacted to this song and actually understood the meaning of it. Most people I've seen reacting to this only focus on the weirdness of the video (and let's face it...it is weird XD though not as weird as another music video of Melanie Martinez called Cry Baby) They don't listen to the lyrics. And I agree with: it is easy to see why this song would be appealing to people who have unfortunate home life. I should know...my home life is less than perfect... Also...I wanted to hug you so bad when you started tearing up! Yeah, a lot of people get hooked on her aesthetics and then you listen to her lyrics and it hits home. I cried when I heard it too. That was most of my life, and when I tried to tell people how I felt (There wasn't any abuse or anything, just a LOT of fighting.), I would get judged and end up feeling guilty for even having any feelings in the first place. So I became really good at pushing things away and pretending I felt nothing. The situation is worse now, but at least others see it now, and my dad and I have support.
