I remember Melanie's songs growing up in the 70's. She had hits such as "Brand New Key", "Ruby Tuesday", "What Have They Done To My Song Ma", "Ring The Living Bell", "The Nickel Song", "Bitter Bad", "Together Alone", "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" etc. "Lay Down (Candles In The Rain)" was inspired by her experience of performing at the 1969 Woodstock music festival.

She was at the great Woodstock festival. She recently past away RIP little angel may God outstretch his arms for you she was an angel on earth.

I had just learned to like Jimi Hendrix, Jethro Tull, Frank Zappa. But the first album I bought in a shop turned out to be Melanie. I had heard "Tuning my guitar" in radio. This was 1970.

Aw thanks! That was me. :) My name is pronounced like "Darcy" but I know it's got a lot of extra letters so no worries! There's another video of her recording the studio version where it's a little more upbeat and powerful. This is more of a sleepy, lullaby version. Thanks again for doing it!
