Debbie Keynes spoke to us about her experience of being diagnosed with melanoma and subsequent treatment with cancer drug dabrafenib. Find out more: www.icr.ac.uk/...
Well done Debbie, I have the same problem . I've been on Tafinlar / Mekinist for 18months, sometimes the side effects are quite bad and I need to take a day off work, But the last 4 PET scans have shown that the tumours have dissapeared.
I’ve been on both drugs for about a month. Seems I’m tired all the time- on and off. When I exercise I can get a little dizzy after awhile. What are your symptoms like David? I’m optimistic it will shrink masses in lungs. We’ll see this summer. Great story and best of luck to all.
@@enbbug1 When you get your next PET scan you should hopefully see the tumours shrink. Yes. the pills sap all your energy sometimes. Also I get nausea, it can last 3 or 4 days. But the worst is cold shakes, that lasts about 30 to 40 minutes. Most of the time you should feel ok.
All the Best to you Debbie! Thank you for sharing your story. I've been on taf/mek 3 months now. I had a breakthrough with immunotherapy in February. Size of a peach in pelvis. Started pills...had a reaction. I'm down to 75mg. Tafinlar..I pill at night and 1 pill of mekinist. I haven't had my PET scan yet. I was declined this month. I just had one in March. Hopefully next month. Is anyone else on such a low dose? First diagnosed January 2020 metastatic melanoma
