Melanoma, commonly known as skin cancer is easily treated when identified early. Anything on the skin that is new or when existing locations on the skin change, they should be checked by your doctor. When caught early, skin cancer is of the most easily and successfully treated. When it is not detected early, the opposite is often true. Fortunately, the test (biopsy) is a quick painless procedure performed right in the doctor's office.
