I don't know why I'm so emotional seeing Melba right now. She really is an ICON in R&B! I saw her waaayyyyy back in the day in New Orleans at the Essence Fest. I was staying in the same hotel as her and I just stared at her because it was so unexpected to run into her at breakfast.

I have a lot of Melba Moore's albums from the 1970s & they're great. To hear she can still saaaaang the roof off today is mind-blowing! Such a fun interview.

I have had the privilege and pleasure to see (and meet) her performance at the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood some years back and I have to say she is the real deal. After she performed she had a meet and greet with the fans. I had brought about 15 of her CD albums and a Sharpie pen (always have one ready) and asked her to autograph all of my CDs. She was surprised that I brought all of those CDs. She was very kind, gracious and conversational. I can attest and say that Melba Moore can hold a vocal note for 31 seconds. She is a national treasure to alot of us old schoolers. Her current album "Imagine" is a great album. Love me some Melba! Thank you Sherri for having Melba Moore on your show. Please invite more of our BLACK LIVING LEGENDS on your show that we know and love. It will help your ratings for sure and it will ma kg e us viewers very happy. You and i are the same age, we're both Taurus's and both of us lived in "The Jungle" at one time in our lives" . 😀
